> We hired Kim's Custom Builders to do a large remodel of our home, adding around around 900 sq/ft including family room, master bedroom, master bath, office and some remodeling of the kitchen. I would definitely recommend this company to my friends. We've worked with a few different local contractors but Mr Kim is the best used.
>
> The quality of the work was consistently excellent with great attention to detail and was also delivered right on schedule. Mr Kim was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, he clearly explained all the design decisions and was very hands-on in all phases of design and construction. He was sensitive to keeping costs down by suggesting economic alternatives without compromising on quality.
>
> Mr Kim also has his own cabinet shop so was able to build us some great custom cabinets at a reasonable price and match the color and construction of our existing cabinets.
>
> We would highly recommend him and his crew.

**★★★★★ — Tanya Berlaga, Dec. 2015**

> We've done several projects with KCB and we love them. Victor is very easy to work with and extremely reliable, which is a rare quality for a contractor. He's designed an entry cabinet for us and did some build-ins for our family room. He was willing to work with our tight budget and delivered everything in a very timely manner. Kenny and Luis were very thorough with the installation and also did a crown molding for us. We would definitely recommend KCB for their quality and reliability.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Which 70's TV house would you want to live in?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

For those that watched television in the 70's, was there one house featured in a show that stands out to you as the best? Which one?
Let's hear your favorites and we'll turn the most popular choices into a poll for everyone. :)

\*This is the Cunningham house from "Happy Days."

A: What a creative question! For 70's I'd definitely go along with other posters in this thread with the Brady Bunch Home. Ideally however, the 90's Disney film 'Smart house' where life is automated would be my dream home!

**Q: Rental Unit Boredom** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Looking for some feedback. Although I like the traditional look of my living room, I find it dull. I need some colour & art to bring it alive, but I don't know what.
I know I need lighting, but still haven't found something that says "I LOVE that!!!". Any suggestions? (The items in corner will be moving, that's not their permanent home).

A: A more colorful rug and with some new pillows and you'll see a world of change..

**Q: Need help in my living room** *(in Design Dilemma)*

So I am in the process of decorating the great room/living room in a new home. Can't figure out what to do for a coffee table for the sectional. Floors are dark brown. sectional is taupe ( once the final piece arrives it will measure 138 (along the kitchen side )X108 (along the window side) with the opening for coffee table measuring 100X70. The extra piece is going just to the right of where the dog is standing in this picture :)
Plan to keep the two brown leather chairs for now. The ottomans can stay or go but wont continue to use them as side tables once I buy some side tables.
Area rug is cream and taupe. Plan to either buy curtains or roman shades. And replace light fixture in background hanging over 60inch round kitchen table.

The room is approx 18X19.

Am stuck on what to do for a coffee table and side tables. I like both of these items from Restoration hardware. https://www.restorationhardware.com/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=prod1593167&categoryId=cat1830037

And this one

https://www.restorationhardware.com/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=prod3040814&categoryId=cat3270153

Open to suggestions on size and color or something else all together.

A: Love what you already have so far...and the RH coffee table you linked goes very well with the current coffee colors. This should be a "before & after" post !

**Q: What can I do with this space above the stairs?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

The only way to access it would be with a ladder on the stairs. Any ideas?

A: I would remove the rails and have a small lounge/couch facing the window - a tranquil reading area. To get up to that area I would install a rope ladder painted white which would tuck away or fold up right underneath the current rails.

**Q: No idea what I'm doing. Would love input!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

This is our living room. It is fine but was wondering if anyone had opinions on whether I should leave furniture as is or rearrange?

A: We really like groveraxle's suggestion. Moving the tv onto a lower stand and adding a picture/painting on top of the fireplace. A corner unit for the tv would maximize space while giving you new layout options to work with as well.

**Q: What color for walls? I'm kinda lost. Tried some grey but looks muddy?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I have Dk. Charcoal Grey Sectional Sofa, Cream Ceiling, White molding along ceiling, Wood Trim around windows & doors and along floor...(can't change the wood trim or the ceiling color--it will stay: as is) Berber Nubby Textured Carpet: Light Brown/Tan & Grey with off white flecks.....now what color to paint walls that will compliment this??? Walls need painted and not sure on color.??

A: Most of the commentors already got it but we think a beige or pewter color would contrast well with the color of the couches. Would love to see any updated pictures!
