**★★★ — Michael Whitehead-Bust, April 2022**

> Their work product was good and their on-site team was super solid. However, they had massive cash-flow issues that significantly effected our job and we were only able to adhere to our timelines because we were willing and able to pay cash up front for tons of job materials. They also neglected to install a water meter in replacing the water line. Not a big thing but the fight to collect the $1,110 in fines that resulted from this mistake has dragged on for a year and is now requiring us to go to small claims for the final $300 that they have acknowledged is their responsibility. Good quality but not worth the aggravation. We have done other projects since and have not solicited bids from them.

**★★★★★ — Carrie Horn, April 2017**

> Division One Construction is the only contractor you want to hire in Denver. If you're looking for the best quality, the highest attention to detail and outstanding knowledge and experience, this is the company you want.
>
> My husband and I hired D1 to pop the top of our 1950s ranch home and to make improvements to the existing structure. In meeting one, Kirk and his team easily developed an honest, professional and friendly relationship with us leading us to fully trust him with our project. Over the eight months it took to complete the project we found Kirk and his team to be extremely knowledgable, accountable for any issues that came up, honest and upfront with budget and timeline and an overall absolute pleasure to be around!
>
> We recently had our one- year warranty walk-through (that Kirk remembered and requested) and we couldn't be happier with our final product. People literally stop outside of our home and point to it and walk up to ask us questions on the project and give compliments on how beautiful it is. I can say that we are 100% satisfied with our gorgeous home.
>
> Many people talk about nightmares with their contractors. Our experience obviously had challenges, as any project does, but was an absolute dream in its entirety. If and when we decide to upgrade anything else in our house we would hire Kirk and his team at D1 in a heartbeat and I recommend him with the highest confidence. Even the subcontractors hired by D1 are wonderful, and people you want to welcome into your home. When you hire them, you'll get quality, experience, professionalism and the outcome you ultimately desire for your home.

> We have hired Division One Construction two times.
>
> In 2009, after interviewing several contractors, we decided to go with Division One because the owner, Kirk, was so straightforward and easy to work with. The project was a complete basement finish. They turned 1,100 sq. ft. of darkness into a great family room with a fireplace, a large playroom, a guest bedroom with en suite bathroom, exercise area, and large storage area. It came out better than we had ever hoped. It was done on time and on budget too!
>
> We were so pleased with Division One that we hired them to take on a large remodeling project in 2015. The project included a major kitchen overhaul, taking down a wall, adding a fireplace, 4 bathroom remodels, and transforming a somewhat useless formal living room into a beautiful home office with custom made barn doors. And - they did all of this while my family of 4 lived in the basement!
>
> The outcome is stunning and we couldn't be happier with it. Again, Kirk and his team were so easy to work with. They addressed any questions or concerns immediately and resolved any minor issues that arose on the spot. We have referred many people to Division One Construction and will continue to do so.

**★★★★ — Delia Palmisano, April 2017**

> We had a great experience with Division 1. They were helpful and accommodating from conceptual process all the way to minor fixes and repairs after completion of the project. Highly recommend!

**★★★★★ — Kathryn Holm, April 2017**

> Kirk and Division One built my house for me two years ago. They really care about doing job right and have even helped me with any issue I may have still. I recommend them whenever I can.

**★★★★★ — rebecca\_rogers6, Feb. 2016**

> They are professional, respectful, on-time, and under budget. What more could you ask for with a general contractor. I will hire them again for my next project.

**★★★★★ — thomas przytarski, April 2015**

> We interviewed/ solicited bids from 6 different contractors for construction of a custom house. , After careful analysis and comparison of all bids we selected Division One even though they weren't the low bidder. Kirk's responsiveness, straight forward answers to our questions ,willingness to accommodate any last minute changes and flexibility with choosing suppliers made our selection of Division One a, " no brainer" choice. The house was timely completed and on budget. On a regular basis during construction Kirk provided itemized bills and summary worksheets showing costs incurred to date, balance of work due and funds available. Their subs did outstanding work at all stages of construction. Subsequently we've received numerous complements on the quality of construction and selection of material . Kirk or his onsite supervisor were readily available during the entire project to address our questions. We recommend Division One for your project without hesitation. They are 5 star contractor.

**★★★★★ — Jennifer Nelson-Clark, April 2015**

> Let me preface this review by saying ours was a difficult project. While technically a remodel, it involved keeping the existing foundation and basement, lopping off the back half of the house, building up new and gutting the rest. Along the way we had almost every issue you hope not to encounter: asbestos, missing foundation wall, far more demo and trash than expected, far more framing needed, price increases due to market demand, sewer issues, you name it. Despite the stress, despite having to navigate frequent tweaks and changes to make the design work, I found Kirk and his team to be amazing. Ours was a truly collaborative team: Kirk's site supervisor, Will Shafer, was the glue that made everything work; all of the subs were professional and worked hard; the team worked well with our architect; and through even the significant challenges professionalism was hewed to and a lot of great humor saw us all through. I would highly recommend Division One if you want someone experienced, smart, and, so important to me, a great group of people.

> Division One did a great job renovating my small 1940's bathroom. They took a couple weeks longer than the original estimate, but their work was perfect. I got exactly what I wanted. Will hire them again.

**★★★★★ — janet\_bates69, April 2015**

> Division One Construction did extensive renovation work on an old Denver building. The work lasted many months from the planning stage on. The whole team was on time, within budget and willing to go the extra mile for each other when unforeseen needs appeared. I wholeheartedly recommend this company.

**★★★★★ — Hart STUDIO LLC, July 2013**

> We have worked with Division One for over a decade. From extensive and complicated residential remodels, to small odd-jobs for past clients, to commercial projects, they have always come through. They are always on our "shortlist" of recommended contractors. Kirk is easy to work with, listens well and has exhibited extreme patience and respect. Their pricing has always been fair and their craftsmanship ranks amongst the best.

## Community Q&A

**Q: I would like to purchase cabinet fronts** *(in Photo Questions)*

Do you sell them? I would like a factory finish.

A: No we do not sell them - we get cabinets in their entirely from several different suppliers depending on what our clients like. You could try some kitchen cabinet design centers.

**Q: What is material on vanity? Marble? Where is vanity from?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: I would have to check in our archives but I believe the vanity is custom cabinetry

**Q: What is the paint color on vanity wall?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Hi Lori, I'll have to go back through our archives to check the paint color. If I remember correctly it was in the olive gray range from Sherwin Williams. Sorry I can't be more specific without going through archived files.

**Q: What tile is on flooring, shower and walls?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: I believe this is Classic Carrara on the floor. The walls are a Villa Heirloom Tile.

**Q: What material is the countertop?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: The counter top is soapstone.

**Q: beautiful kitchen! what subway tile did you use?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: The back splash tile was an item that was supplied by the owner so I don't have the exact call out for it.
