> Centre Stage Design is definitely a 5 star business. I have had them come to my house on two different occasions -living room update (March 2010) and bathroom reno/outdoor space spruce up (June 2016). With both projects, they displayed the utmost professionalism with regards to fresh ideas, promptness, budgeting, and follow through. They come prepared with their tool boxes and can easily handle any remodelling task. If needed, they quickly call other skilled labourers to help out as required. Glenda and Sheila work amazingly well together. They will ask you about areas they are unsure of, and are not afraid to ask their clients to "go outside the box" with new trends and the latest in design ideas or colours. They are classic stylists with a hint of modernism. My house always feels updated, clean, and fresh after they have visited. I highly recommend Centre Stage Design.

**Comment from Centre Stage Design:**

> It has always been a pleasure working with you and we appreciate your kind words so much. We are happy to come back anytime!

> I hired Centre Stage Design to stage my house after we had moved out but the house was still for sale. They decided that being the front room was a Coffee Rose color, it should be changed. They decided to paint it a soft grey color called Mist. Just when they were finishing the painting the house sold so they never did stage it. Also because it was never staged, I have no pictures.
> Centre Stage Design is wonderful to work with. They listen to you but give you very good suggestions as to what to do. I was more than pleased with my experience working with them.

**Comment from Centre Stage Design:**

> Thank you for the great review. We were so glad that you sold your house so fast. Hope you are doing well.

> This is my second time working with Centre Stage Design, they did my office a couple of years ago and it was not only beautifully decorated but very functional as well. I recently had them help me with a complete re-design of my kitchen/living room and the design elements they incorporated into my new space were things I would have never done on my own. I greatly appreciated Glenda & Sheila's advice and knowledge and I am absolutely thrilled with the final result. To walk into your home after they have done their "magic" is truly a gift. I highly recommend Centre Stage Design........you will not be disappointed!

> I was totally impressed, not only with the ability of this team to take a blank slate and my vague vision to a beautiful conclusion, but with how they made sure I was included in every step of the process. The end result was more than I could have imagined including furnishings, colour co-ordination, and all the accessories that brought the rooms to life. They go the extra mile to make sure the smallest details are considered. Together they created a beautiful design which remains welcoming and comfortable.

**Comment from Centre Stage Design:**

> Thank you so much for your review. We appreciate your kind words and enjoyed working with you too.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Kindly Help with Decorating** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Our family room needs help and so do I! I'm having a hard time coordinating end and coffee table styles/colors. I'm also thinking of lowering or removing the top framing on fireplace and enclosing the tv to hide it.
But then what to do with artwork? Do I need cabinets or tables on both sides of fireplace and/or artwork. Then with window treatments

A: I think a good carpenter could help you with this whole process. You will probably have to paint the whole wall but the project may not be as difficult as you think.

**Q: 8' or 9' ceiling height, new build** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hello all,

My fiancé and I are in the process of designing and building our first house.
We are hung up on whether or not we go with 8' or 9' ceiling height. It is a somewhat larger floor plan and house has many south facing windows for natural light. Also the living room which is larger at 14'x17' and on south wall has a tray ceiling which will be 3' taller in height than the rest of the house.
So there alone if we go 8' and 11' tray with big windows facing south do do you guys see any reason why 8 would be a huge turn off? And also in the master and en suite we would go 8', but these are also south facing walls so we will get a ton of natural light still.

I am figuring that we will save upwards of 25k just by going to 8' and 11' raised tray in living room, which is a fair chunk of change to us and worth the discussions.

We both feel comfortable in 8', as she is 5'4" and I am 5'11". We also live in central Canada/Saskatchewan so we are paying to heat often and regularly cook in summer which the extra foot over 1750sq/ft would make a difference.

If you think we are nuts, or you support our decision to go 8' and 11' vs 9' and 12' please let us know either way.

\*also it is in a smaller community and older homes, 9' ceilings are not the norm here.

Please see attached photos

Thanks you guys and we look forward to the responses!

A: My advice would be to go with the 9' ceilings. The extra foot will give the impression of more space. Have you thought of cathedral ceilings in the main area? I don't know what the cost would be but I think it would be worth checking out. I have them in my cabin and, even though there are large windows and plenty of light, the extra height makes the space seem larger than it is. I agree with others in this forum that for resale you want to stand out from the others, not be the same.

**Q: Need advice on color towels? Hot pink towels or black towels?** *(in Before & After)*

Thanks

A: I would go with black.

**Q: Kitchen Project** *(in Before & After)*

We removed the wall between the old kitchen and dining room. We then relocated the kitchen to the old dining room space and turned a 3 season sunroom into a 4 season kitchen nook.
Pre Reno:
Post Reno:

A: It is beautiful!

**Q: Is this rug placement okay?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Just got a Turkish rug and I'm wondering how I should reorient my teeny tiny apartment. Should I move my cow hide out or over? Do you like the placement of the rug? Sorry the lighting isn't great!

A: I agree with several others that your space is too small for these two rugs. They both look to be nice rugs but I actually prefer the cowhide rug in this room. It is hard to tell by the pictures but can it be centred more in the space so that there is more equal space between the rug and the wall?

**Q: Which is better over the bed?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

The starburst mirror or the tea light metal art?

A: Its hard to tell about the radiator cover without seeing more of the room. From the picture you have here I think you might want to just paint it the wall color so that it just blends in.
