My passion in life is timeless, original architecture and I have found myself in the very fortunate position of doing what I love every day since 1981. Not only do I enjoy a career that has allowed me to design some of the most spectacular homes in the desert, mountains and islands, I have had the distinct honor of working side by side with my son, Justin. 

Justin began working at my firm nearly 14 years ago as an intern and I had the personal pleasure of watching him become the dynamic and talented architect he is today. I am extremely proud to call him my partner, and even more so, of his dedication to upholding the values and philosophies that have been the foundation of Kilbane Architecture for more than 32 years. 

Our goal standard with each and every client is quite simple; exceed every expectation with superior client service and unsurpassed quality of design and construction. The working partnership Justin and I enjoy is all about balance; combining both the creative design and highly technical aspects of architecture. 

Above all else, our goal is first, to listen and to do so carefully. We take the time to get to know you and fully understand your needs, wants and desires. From there, we approach every home with interiors and exteriors that reflect your personal taste. We understand this is your home and our job is to use our experience and knowledge to make your vision come to life in the most remarkable way. 

While Kilbane Architecture is nationally certified, able to build in any state and a member of the A.I.A. our focus is on one of my first loves, the Southwest. A thorough understanding of the topography and lifestyle allows us to begin designing your home from the very first and most important step, site design. We pride ourselves on providing you engineering and design that take advantage of the uniqueness of your site and of course, every angle and spectacular view possible. 

In addition to designing the home you have always dreamed of in the perfect location, we further help bring your vision to life by offering a superior, concept to completion architectural package. Along with highly detailed plans, specifications and models, we assist you with everything from comprehensive architectural material selections to bidding and negotiating with builders. Beyond the initial planning, concept and design phases, we stay by your side, observing the construction process and working closely with your builder long after the architectural development is done. We look forward to getting to know you and turning your dream home into a reality.

**Q: Construction** *(in Photo Questions)*

Just curious, how would a wall like this be constructed?

A: We had our masons build it out of masonry block two courses wide and bond beam at the top.

Please tell me what type of floor this is. It looks like Saltillo , I am looking for a Saltillo lookalike

A: It is real saltillo- I believe it was a mix of maganese and regular though.

**Q: What stunning floor tile was used in this bathroom?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Sorry for the delay- this was a travertine floor and I checked around I have not seen it since.

A: I believe Kevin Douds from Props Inc. http://www.propsinc.com/ did these doors.

This would be my dream to have this in my home.  How much might a room like this cost to put together? Just ball park figure minus the rock climbing stuff

A: I would be very hard to give you a cost sorry- the wood floors, beams, iron, and stucco were bid by the contractor as part of the whole house wood package and I do not have a breack out for each room.

Is this room half above ground level and half below ground level?

A: The room is sunken 12' underground and 14' above ground for a 26' high ceiling.
