Their work was of the highest quality and I have peace of mind knowing that everything was done properly. Patio w.Pergola? help!** *(in Design Dilemma)* Ok- I may totally be dreaming, but I want a porch. Covered porch. And I have NO clue if my house would work well with a porch or not. I'm all nostalgic and I want a place where I can put a table and a couple of chairs, sit out there with my cold beer and watch my daughter ride bikes with the neighbor kids and smell the freshly cut grass this summer. What kind of house do I even have? I'm clueless. And what would be better? A wooden porch or a patio w/ pergola? Any suggestions would be awesome! We live in CO and the front of our house faces south and gets full sun all day\` A: A deck would be great in the front of your house. I would build a small deck that would double as a front porch. The deck could come out as far as your garage wall and go over to the edge of your house, this would allow you to put a small table and some chairs in front of your window. **Q: Bead board on side of cabinets in kitchen** *(in Design Dilemma)* I just had my traditional cabinets refinished white. We have tried to stick with a transitional style through out our house. The woman who installed the cabinets added bead board to the side of the cabinets. I happen to really like how it looks. However, a family member told me that it is the wrong style for our cabinets and house, and actually hates the look. I still have time to change it. Can I get any advice on this? Thanks! A: I would remove the bead board and install a fixed raised panel to match the cabinet doors **Q: Triming out kitchen window** *(in Design Dilemma)* I have dilemma or what I think is a dilemma. Were getting closer to installing are new IKEA white Ramsjo cabinets. I have a small kitchen window 30'' W x 35'' H Their will be cabinets on each side of the window. I have fairly generic casing around the bay window that I would like to to keep. See attached pictures I also included a close up of the detail of the existing trim I am questioning if I could have two different trims styles in the room. The existing bay window trim would remain and also be the casing for the two door openings. The kitchen window we would use trim seen in the attached picture. A: Yes you could. The window is unique as far as its in a bay so it could some more custom trim . **Q: Porcelain tile or wood look porcelain tile for main floor** *(in Design Dilemma)* We are placing the ugly ceramic tile in our boca Raton home. We are debating between lovely light creamy and beige porcelain tile OR porcelain tile that looks like wood. We don't want floors that have to be maintained as we have a large german shepherd, which is why we would use wood porcelain tile. I can't decide which look to go for.... It's floor is open from entranceway, living room, dining room, family room and kitchen. A: The porcelain tiles that look like wood is the way to go. The wood look has a nice contrast to your cabinets and won't look dated in years to come.
