I already have the Arhaus Andreas 40" chandelier in brass and the only table I've liked is a copper top with matte black base from Haverty's. Can these possibly work together? If not, what other finish would you recommend? Our house pictured below with Celtic Green Wellborn Cabinets, Silestone Calacata Gold countertops, Delta champagne bronze faucets with matching hardware, Anderson Picasso Hickory Crema floors (warm brown) A: I think it would work well together! Mixing textures creates interest in a space and avoids looking too uniform within a space. These work especially well together since they're warm toned to match the floor, I would just pick neutral colored chairs to compliment it. **Q: choices on quartz counter tops.** *(in Polls)* First photo is our kitchen. I really wanted a white quartz with warm veins, but it’s between MSI callacata viraldi, breve, or Clara. In order 3 photos each -slab, detail, kitchen. I was drawn to viraldi most, but worry it’ll be too busy. Breve I was is too subtle and Clara I like but it’s cool and gray not warm like I was hoping. A: I like the third one, the Clara, as the first one looks like a scratched texture with too many vein lines. The Clara has evenly distributed lines in its design and would be a clean look for your kitchen! **Q: Wall color suggestions for unpaintable old beige cabinets and counters** *(in The Old House)* We're trying to slowly update our 1950's home and we're not in the market to replace cabinets and countertops with this current kitchen setup. Eventually (in the next 5-10 years) we're going to hopefully add on to the house, which will include gutting this kitchen and completely remodeling it. But, for the time being, I am stumped as to how to update this kitchen with these cabinets and countertops. The cabinets are made of a weird material that paint won't stick to (see last photo), so I don't really know what our options are other than trying to find a wall color that won't make them look extra dingy. We've updated the floors, sink, refrigerator, stove, and microwave (still in progress, hence the old one on the counter still), but I really want to make this a clean, updated space and these cabinets are killing me. Helpppppp please! A: Peel and stick wall paper could be a nice touch, although I would definitely replace the hardware if you're on a budget. Repaint the wood trim around the cabinets to freshen it up a bit. If you're worried about paint not sticking, I would sand it to strip it of the paint and remove any veneer finish, and then attempt to repaint it if you chose to. **Q: What changes/improvements would you make to this space?** *(in Paint)* A: The overall layout and color scheme looks great! I would just change the dining room table, it looks dated and it's a tad bit too small in the space it's in. I would suggest a rectangular table in another finish such as black. or maybe even a glass top. **Q: help needed with grout color?** *(in Polls)* Should we use dark grout or white grout color with these white subway tiles? Just finished tiling this small area. Picture is without any grout Please vote… thank you!! A: Depending on how frequent you want to clean and maintain the area would affect how light or dark you want your grout. A lighter grout would eventually stain or show mold. A dark grout would be bold and define the lines of the tiles, but this look may appear outdated a few years down the line. If you aren't particular about being trendy, the dark grout is more practical. **Q: black or white solar shades** *(in Polls)* I plan to use a solar shade with either 10 or 14% openness. Typically, I would lean toward the black because I know it would tend to be more "invisible" than white however, in this particular case I wonder if it would stand out too much with all the white trim, light gray tile etc. Would love some professional opinions. A: Black solar shades would optimally make more sense in this space, as white shades would be washed out against the walls and cabinets.
