> We worked with Emily and team at Umlaut Interiors to renovate our kitchen and a bathroom and had an outstanding experience from start to finish. Working with her and team—during design and construction— was truly a joy. We love the results, highly recommend her and wouldn't hesitate to work with her again.

> Going into the project, we had a strong overall sense of what we were looking for in terms of design, but we had never renovated a kitchen before. Emily helped us navigate the many discrete choices (cabinets, appliances, layout, lighting, countertop). She was a sounding board for aesthetic decisions and helped us make good choices on the more functional decisions.

> She is extremely well organized and proactive. For example, we were strongly leaning towards a particular modular / semi-custom cabinet maker. When we learned that their system would leave too-large empty spaces in the corners of our U-shaped kitchen, Emily put together a set of alternative cabinet maker options with a diversity of prices and degrees of customizability. She helped us think through and ultimately select a cabinet maker that we’ve been really happy with.

> Umlaut Interiors provides an amazing service for home renovations! We wanted to make some upgrades to our bathroom prior to the sale of our condo, but didn’t know how to go about it ourselves or have time to do the research. We contacted Emily to help us with this project and from the very start, she proved to be a wonderful resource! Not only is she knowledgeable when it comes to designing and planning home upgrades, Emily is extremely organized and pleasant to work with! To begin, she presented us with a variety of options for replacing our bathroom vanity and windows, careful to point out any possible obstacles we might encounter and full of ideas for how we could minimize the cost. Once we decided to move forward, Emily helped us source all of the labor, materials, and other logistics for our project, the details of which she clearly organized in a shared spreadsheet and updated regularly.  She has excellent communication skills, in both English and Spanish, and was in frequent contact with us throughout the duration of the project. Emily also oversaw the work herself, which was very important since she gracefully troubleshooted a few issues that would have set us back had Emily not been as resourceful and dedicated as she is. Throughout the entire renovation process, Emily went above and beyond to make sure that everything went smoothly. The end result was exactly what we wanted - we just wished we had hired Umlaut Interiors to do the work sooner!

> As first time homeowners, we were looking to remodel our house and were really set back by most general contractors we met with.  After deciding we wanted to take a DIY approach, we met with Umlaut and they helped us develop a playbook customized to our project to add a completely new bathroom, remodel an existing bathroom, and remodel a large family room while replacing nearly all the guts of the house (HVAC, electric, hot water).

> Emily and Steve were always easy to approach. They never tied to complicate the process and it always felt like they had our best interest in mind.   Going DIY can be overwhelming and stressful.  I don't think its possible to completely avoid this, but working with Umlaut will definitely set you on the right path.  We hope to work with them again soon, potentially expanding to work with them as a GC and on interior design.
