BRACO Stone is a family-owned business that has been installing countertops in the Kansas City area since 1993. We have added custom cabinets to our product offering by being the exclusive provider of Conrad Cabinets, a local KC Cabinet Brand. Our other services include design, tile, general construction, and much more.

A BRIEF HISTORY:

We have been at this business for a long time, but I'll try to make this short. Here is a brief history of how we came to be...

Mark Bray took over Allied Tile, a large commercial tile contractor, from David Bray in the early '70s. Mark ran Allied for 20 years before changing the name to BRACO and focusing on granite countertops at the behest of his son, Graham. Graham came on board at that time to lead the company in this new direction with his knowledge and skill in fabrication and installation. Scotty Bray was the first Braco employee in 1992 and was added to the ownership in 2002.

GET TO KNOW US:

Scotty Bray - GM & Sales
Scott is the young buck of this crew and best looking by far! Can you guess who made the website? "I've been doing this since I was 13, so I know a thing or 2 about countertops. I'll get you the best quality product at a great price...tell your friends!!!"

Graham Bray - Operations Manager
Graham is a pretty rough guy (mushy on the inside though) and one of the top granite artisans in the country! With over 25 years of experience, you want him working on your job.

Mark Bray - Wise Salesman
Mark is old, but we don't hold it against him..he's seen everything throughout the years and will make sure your job gets done correctly and just the way you want it. Careful, he's a charmer!

Give us a call today for your granite, stone, and cabinetry needs - we look forward to working with you!

> Working with Carol at Braco Countertops and Cabinets was wonderful. We redesigned my bathroom and redid my kitchen island when I moved into a new home. The people who did the work at my home, starting with Shannon, who led the team, were fantastic. Because of Covid, we had a longer time than usual to get some of the items. But everything went well and wonderfully. I highly recommend Carol, Shannon and the Braco team for the remodeling! They were efficient, effective, neat and so kind during a very stressful time of moving, remodeling and a pandemic.

> We contacted Braco to save us from a countertop nightmare we were having, and they delivered! They were able to get us what we needed from a visual perspective, worked with us to achieve our installation deadline, and communication was consistent, and clear! Price was great too! They were knowledgeable about the type of countertop to buy, it's durability, and how to care for it. If I need anything in the future, they will be my go to!

> We used Braco Stone and Conrad Custom Cabinets for new kitchen cabinets, quartz countertop, and a living room cabinet. I was very pleased with the craftsmanship as well as the service. Carol was a huge help on the front end helping to visualize all the details and make very helpful suggestions. She was also great at helping us to stay within budget.

> I used a neighbor friend for the demolition, electrical, plumbing, and floors. It would have been much easier if they had done everything but I was not going to pass up an offer to help me complete the project at a reduced cost. Braco/Conrad’s worked well with the contractor, it just requires more communication. There were a few “hick-ups” during installation but Braco/Conrads was very responsive in getting everything rectified and making certain we were happy and pleased.
>
> We are very pleased with the finished product and could not be happier. The cabinets are absolutely beautiful !!!

> My wife and I would HIGHLY recommend Scott & Conrad Cabinets to anyone looking for quality finishes for their home remodeling project.
>
> We just remodeled our kitchen and Scotty & his crew were incredibly helpful. High quality work both in the cabinets & countertops and at a very reasonable price. And we did our research when it came to pricing out both.
>
> A sincere thank you to Scotty & his entire team for their exceptional work!

> I’ve used this company for many homes I have designed and helped with remodels. They have been professional, pleasant, and have wonderful follow through! I used them first in my own home, since then, I have used them for dozens of jobs. Seinda is my rep and she is great to work with, she works so hard! The installers have been professional and respectful in homes.

> I would like to highly recommend Seinda Foresman with Braco Stone. She has an excellent eye for putting things together and I am thrilled with her attention to detail and customer service. Several people have commented on the selections made with her input and and vision. I couldn’t be more pleased. Kierstin Millard

> After our initial meeting and discussions with our sales person we were really looking forward to working with this company. This was a simple countertop install and replacement of a backsplash. However, it was a HORRENDOUS experience. The lack of communication and customer service was so DISAPPOINTING. We were left with an unfinished kitchen over the holiday since they did not have a competent crew that could complete the project. We were LIED to more than once. Unfortunately we had to terminate the contract and were left to complete the project ourselves. I was really hoping I would be able to recommend this company to several friends however, just the opposite!!

**Comment from Braco Countertops:**

> Dear owner, my apologies for your experience and I would like to address your review. It seems as though the communication between our staff and you broke down and my apologies for that. We knew on Monday of Thanksgiving week that we were not going to be able to install your backsplash before Thanksgiving and instructed our staff to call you and let you know that. We went long on another install and had to finish. Apparently that did not happen and again, I apologize. We went ahead with the install on Tuesday of the countertops as we thought you had been notified (by we, I mean ownership) about the backsplash not getting done Wednesday. From the pictures my installers took on the job site, the countertops looked great. I am not sure who lied to you, but we do not lie and if someone did I need to know who it was and what was said. I understand if you do not want to talk to us, but it would be helpful to address it. We would have finished the install of the backsplash after Thanksgiving, but your husband told us he could do it and did not want us to. I want to be clear that we do not walk away from jobs. We were told not to install the splash. My company failed in communicating with you effectively which I will address, but given the opportunity we would have installed the splash even if it was after Thanksgiving. We simply wanted to comply with your wishes by you all doing it yourself. My apologies for the inconvenience and I hope you like your new soapstone countertops. Below is a pic of the soapstone immediately after oiling it as our finishing step.

> Braco Stone has taken care of all my natural stone countertop needs for years. I like the fact that they are a small family owned business. They always make me feel that my business is appreciated. Their technicians are excellent and the finished product, without fail, beautiful. I highly recommend them!

> Initially all was good, and all looked wonderful. In fact it still does look wonderful. However, looking good is not prime function of a kitchen counter top, it has to be fit for purpose and this installation is far from it.
>
> The problem began when glass stove top broke. We contacted the manufacturer and everything pointed to heat shock and a new top was shipped and fitted by a local manufacturer service rep. The new top broke as well, same symptoms, this type the manufacturer sent a more senior representative to investigate. On removal of the top they measured the hole, it was on average 1/4" too big and therefore not eligible for a warranty replacement.
>
> Finally, after multiple calls Braco agreed to come and look at issue. They informed us that the hole was fine, it is supposed to be a loose fit, all contrary the manufacturers recommendations and installation guidelines. Since pointing this out to Braco I not heard anything back.
>
> Buy from them if you wish but be prepared for poor service, incorrectly size holes and the cost of having a reputable company redo their work

**Comment from Braco Countertops:**

> We are aware of this job. We were told we made our cooktop hole too large and that is the reason the cooktop has broken twice. We do not believe this is our fault as we made the cutout hole just slightly larger than the spec hole. The customer says 1/4" all around, but it is not quite that much bigger. Also, even if it were that much bigger, that is only 1/8" bigger all the way around. The hole we cut was still covered by the cooktop and our cnc programmer knew the hole was a bit bigger when he programmed the job for cutting. This was done because we make far too many return trips to job sites where the cooktop spec says a certain size, but it ends up not fitting. Many times this happens because of some very small screws under the glass top they do not list in the spec sheets. Either way, our programmer saw that the overall cooktop size would cover the hole we cut. WE HAVE NEVER HAD THIS ISSUE BEFORE, SO WE DO NOT BELIEVE THE FAULT IS WITH US. We believe the problem is with the cushion tape that goes between the cooktop and the granite. The tape that is in there is not very thick and the cooktop glass is basically setting right on the granite which is a recipe for disaster. We are being asked to fix a cooktop issue and we are not able to fix that issue. If another company came to reinforce the cooktop, then the customer should have had the cooktop company do that as they are the ones at fault
