**★★★★★ — Pam Massey, March 2017**

> Wes thinks through every detail, and presents well to the client. We did a huge remodel, with a limited budget adding on a partial floor with many structural changes. Wes helped us achieve the look we wanted within our budget.
>
> Search House for West Seattle Skybox Addition.

**★★★★★ — Robert Edson Swain Architecture and Design, June 2015**

> Wes has worked with Robert Edson Swain, Architecture + Design on several projects over the years.
> As a collaborator, he brings his solid knowledge and practice of industrial design to the table.
>
> As a designer, Wes is creative and innovative. He truly cares about his clients, and that comes through in how he manages his projects. He carefully listens to his team and his clients to work through the design process and ultimately ensure its execution.
>
> We would whole heartedly recommend Wes to any client.

**★★★★★ — Richartz Studios, Inc., March 2013**

> Wes has worked on a number of projects for me over the years and I consider him to be a very creative designer who is great to work with.
>
> He is an attentive listener, team oriented and works great with others (i.e. builder, interiors). Our projects were on schedule and was provided wonderful leadership through the budget process.
>
> Not sure how we would have pulled off this project without him!

**★★★★★ — User, Feb. 2013**

> We approached Wes Pierce of Pierce Design to guide us through a remodel of our 20-year old master suite.
>
> He worked with our ideas (bye-bye brass) and added his own insights (skylight, tiled wet room.) He balanced high-end fixtures with cost-savers to meet our budget. Impeccable design choices and micro-detailed plans made the construction process move smoothly.
>
> The result is a sleek, beautiful, relaxing suite that is modern and high-quality.
>
> We're excited to work with Wes again as we continue to update our home.

- [West Seattle Skybox Addition](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/west-seattle-skybox-addition-pj-vj~176934)
  - Location: Seattle, WA
  - Photos: 11
  - Description: A family of 4 had outgrown this modest home overlooking Alki Point and the Olympic Mountains. A modern second story addition was added with a Master Bedroom and Bath, and an office with a “crows nest” deck for the homeowner, who works from home. High ceilings allow lots of light from south facing transom windows and provides some additional storage over the bath. A secret stair disguised as a bookcase leads to a roof hatch for access to panoramic views of Puget Sound. The stairs decend through a…

  - Location: Bellevue, WA
  - Photos: 10
  - Description: Pierce Design was asked to completely update the interior of this dated bath. The home owner's were tired of the gold plated fixture details and were looking for something modern and contemporary, at the same time, reflecting their practical, no-frills sensibilities. Upon visiting the home for the first time, the limited amount of natural light from north facing windows and silvery green light that filtered in from the giant Douglas fir trees stood out as one of the bigger challenges. In order t…

  - Location: Not specified

  - Description: Pierce Design was asked to help solve a few problems at this new, modern condo: gain access to the roof to clean the rain downspouts 30 feet above ground and provide a means to aleviate the summer heat that builds up in the Upper Level during warm summer months. If a small rooftop deck could be part of that solution, all the better! A ships ladder and rooftop hatch quickly presented itself as the best solution. Numerous itterations and designs were studied and a bright yellow, all steel design w…

## Community Q&A

**Q: question about hatch** *(in Photo Questions)*

what is the name of the hatch? and do u have photos of the small deck?

A: Hi Ed, I'd love to talk to you more about what you might be looking into. The hatch is by Bilco. I have a close up of a portion of the small deck on my website www.wespierce.com. I've seen some photos on the homeowner's social media, but I don't think I have a great post-construction shot.

**Q: Railing** *(in Photo Questions)*

Hi, who did the railing? We live in the Seattle are and are looking for a cable rail for our stairs and decks. Thanks!

A: Hi Amy, the general contractor, Tim Tanner of Tanner Construction installed the stairs and handrail. The cables and parts are off the shelf Cable Rail components.

**Q: Steel** *(in Photo Questions)*

I live in the Seattle area and am interested in steel counters. Who did you work with on this project regarding the counters specifically, and do you know anything about the practicality of using them in a bathroom?

A: Hi Amy, the General Contractor on this project was Tim Tanner, of Tanner Construction. The steel is holding up well in this location. The practicality of using them in a bathroom is subjective, and will be a matter of your expectations, as well as lifestyle. The finish methodology is very important. What sort of project are you planning?

**Q: Looking for sconces for the sides of the mirrors,** *(in Photo Questions)*

Could you please tell me where you got these? Thanks!

A: I like those sconces too. They're Ginger's Kubric model.

**Q: Cedar** *(in Photo Questions)*

I live in west michigan and will be building soon. What company did the cedar come from?
Thanks!

A: my complements, that's sharp

**Q: Love this addition** *(in Photo Questions)*

We are located in seattle (queen Anne area) wanting an addition just like this for our home. Do you still work on home designs?

A: Absolutely, I'd be happy to discuss your potential project. Our office is located on the very north of Queen Anne, right near the canal and SPU on Nickerson Street.
