They took my basic plan, refined it and executed it perfectly. I cannot say enough about what a delight it was to work with Jeff and AJ (and Karen) in my kitchen remodel. It has been done for almost 6 months now, and I am as delighted as the day they finished. They were so respectful of my home...keeping the disruption to a minimum, and keeping it oh so clean at the end of each workday. Our project was done over Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years holidays, but they went above and beyond to keep my inconvenience to a minimum. The earlier projects included kitchen and powder room updates. Our recent renovations involved the upstairs laundry room, and two full bath renovations. > > Initially, we looked for a local team with a great reputation. We were impressed with WKD completing our first set of objectives on budget and with solid workmanship. There was great communication and advice. The WKD electrical/plumbing/flooring/stone subs were dependable and easy to work with as well. It was our first experience working with a contractor, and our questions and desires were addressed with patience and interest. And an abundance of Jeff Walker's good humor and attention to detail. We started off with what was going to be a small project, just replacing one portion of the original kitchen. We decided that was throwing good money after bad and so bit the bullet to renovate the entire kitchen. > > We were open to suggestions offered by Walker Kitchen. Each and every one, even small suggestions were awesome. Jeff is a perfectionist for details, and was amazing at fixing small issues, sometimes before we even noticed them. One of the last was just a small line between the top of the granite over the stove, and before the hood, that showed paint color. The next day, he had had manufactured a small piece of metal, that provided a finished look, and this without our asking. > The Walker Team arrived on time and cleaned up each and every day!! I have had other contractors where I had to cleanup after they cleaned up. His sub contractors are terrific, and is Noreen in the office, and AJ!! Remember to see AJ for appliances. We had our entire kitchen renovated including removal of a dining room wall. Jeff was on top of all the subcontractors (ceiling, drywall, plumber, electrician, etc.) and made sure we were happy with all tasks every step of the way. Jeff and his team have a lot of experience. His project manager AJ also works in the appliance business and was extremely helpful in guiding us through selecting and purchasing appliances that fit our needs. Let me give one examplet of the quality of work provided. The company that did the granite missed a cut by 1/4 of an inch. I may not have noticed if he did not point it out to me. He insisted they take it back and redo the counters. They did and the finished product is beautiful. Hard to find that attention to detail and customer service these days.
