Can you tell me who makes this chaise? - Thanks! A: Hello Fradiafangle, I'm sorry this was not answered right away, We are checking on the Houzz alerts for the questions we receive. This was one of a pair in this setting - once made by Hickory Chair Furniture. We are able to reproduce these for you if you like. Covered in a straw gold mohair which is extremely durable, with all of the pillows on the back, this continues the story in this space - that it's about repetition and multiples. This space is actually the lower level of a home, and to the right (out of frame) are French doors that lead right out to the pool, and to the right are a multiple series of "French Door" Arched mirrors in verdigris frames that echo the French doors opposite the room. The beauty of this room, is that it is indestructible, and doubles as a home theater. One press of a button, and the pale gold draperies close off the outside doors, darkening the room, the projector tilts out of the ceiling, and the screen lowers in front of the multiple mirrors. The hidden speakers are just beneath a unique skim coated surfacing that looks just like painted drywall, and therefore - invisible. Another press of the button, and the room returns to a recreation room, with commercial carpeting, glass top coffee tables, commercial fabrics on the other furniture items,, perfectly OK for the wet bathing suits, and the family's dog. We wanted an example of showing how "NOT" creating a separate Home Theater room at some great cost, which ends up being a darkened space not often used, to ease the budget, and have this room perform a double duty. And, to offer a visual surprise, that coming downstairs, you might expect the traditional pool table, and some stone wall somewhere - but here is another level of the home furnished in a more sophisticated style, that is unique as you come upon it from the decent on the staircase! How did you hang the Chinese screen behind the sofa. I'd like to do something similar, but worry it may be too heavy A: Hello Bap Grey - I'm sorry this is a late response, we are checking into the Houzz alerts for the questions we receive! I think I have two answers for you; Here, in this case, there is a simple "fool the eye" thing we did - in creation of "boxes" or stands to place the screen on. You may notice the left side of the screen, the box that is directly behind the side table, has a faux finish for the base molding and the quarter round trim. There were four of the boxes in total, mostly hidden behind the sofa and the skirted table, so the effect really worked. To make this safe from tipping over, we tied thin but strong wire to the uppermost hinges from the back, attached to the wall. Another way is to use several mounted wire ties, and support the screen entirely with these type of mounts, but there a a few tricks to know about doing it this way. A: Dear Leslie, the artist, Lucy Dawson, from the UK, was well known for sketching neighbors' and friends dogs, and became famous for the natural style of each dog. She passed away many years ago, and there are books that can be found ( one is "Dogs, as I see them") and they are becoming rare. We have a few of these books, and as they are in terrible condition - make a great source for single pages as "Prints" we use in framing. Here, we used high quality framing, with over sized matting in silk, with 22K gold inner fillet that provides a great "glint" of light right around the image.
