We had not seen one another in years her project was a great excuse to catch up on our lives. > The design scheme was challenging because she wanted the kitchen to open up into both the dining (a space that previously served as a family room) and the living space on either side. By creating a graceful large opening between the kitchen and living room and using an island as transition, we accomplished the living room kitchen piece. For the dining/kitchen we enlarged and opened the doorway to the ceiling and let base kitchen cabinets from the kitchen move around the corner and into the dining space. The counter acts as buffet to the large windowed dining space that acts as hub for her large family gatherings. We also found a more appropriate place for the refrigerator which was in an awkward space near the new dining room. > The spaces now move gracefully into one another allowing the connectedness that Barb wanted to achieve. > We have a date set to get some photos. > Thank you Barb! **★★★★★ — Beth Gilchrist, June 2016** > Carol's taste is exquisite and she will incorporate loved items with new favorites.
