When we noticed one of the picture windows was leaking, we replaced it at our own expense - through Strassburger. They told us it was likely related to installation although it was apparent when we got the replacement that the design had changed. As 2 more picture windows leaked this year, we reached out again. We were given various explanations and they sent someone out to apply silicone. This does not give us confidence that the underlying problem is fixed. At this point, we will replace these three but not use Strassburger. We want windows that last longer than 10 years and based on our experience Strassburger lacks both product longevity and after sales service. **★ — David Napanee, March 2025** > Utter garbage windows. Leak constantly from 1 month after install. Builder traced it to window frames themselves, not installation. I purchased 54 windows with LoE-366 glass. Over time 8 developed seal failures. In response to my warranty claim Strassburger provided the wrong glass: LoE-272. This is inferior and visibly different to what I had purchased originally. I now have 4 windows which do not match the others in appearance or UV protection. Despite my efforts, there has been no acknowledgement of the error and no attempt to rectify the matter. My emails and voicemails have been ignored. Recently, we had an issue with one of our windows (owner's fault). We gave Strassburger a call and shortly after, Josh arrived to assess the damage. He took the measurements back to the shop and a new window was made. Sadly, the fit of the first window was not quite right (age of old window probably). A second window was made and it didn't fit properly. Just this morning Josh arrived took out the damaged window and installed the third window. We thank Strassburger and Josh for their perseverance it doing things properly. no extra charges. Great service on a great product. Sadly the company is still a popular one in Toronto however only with mediocre reviews. > In Nov. 2015 we replaced the remaining 16 windows of our house with STRAUSSBERGER windows. We purchased double hung windows since that is what the builder installed years ago and we don’t care for the look of casement windows from the outside when they are open. We know we sacrificed efficiency but a clean neat appearance on the outside was more important to us. > We absolutely LOVE these windows!!!! They glide open and closed with ease, they are extremely well manufactured, they look amazing and the price point was comparable to others we considered. > I’ve read here a number of negative reviews and it seems in all cases these reviews are based on poor or unfinished installations. There are two parts to a good window buying experience. The first is the quality and workmanship of the windows, the second is the quality of the installation. If either one of these two parts isn’t well done there won’t be a happy ending. We were very happy with our installation but I can’t in good faith recommend the dealer since we know our installer doesn’t work for them any more. We don’t know what kind of a job the new installers would do. We hope that Straussberger would only refer customers to the best installers/dealers so their windows would be properly installed. We we will soon be replacing our crap windows with new double hung Straussberger windows. > STRAUSSBERGER we are crazy about your excellent windows. We ordered 20+ windows and transoms from our local dealer who installed part of them, then packed his trailer and left with most of them not installed and one of the transoms installed with a crack they claimed happened in delivery. The manufacturer has refused to replace the cracked window because they feel it was the dealer's fault, the dealer went out of business, and we can't seem to get any help despite numerous calls and emails sent to the manufacturer. If I had the money and the gumption, I'd rip them all out and start over. The installer went out of business and here I am a few years later with a broken window that cannot close anymore and Starss burger won't return any phones, emails. just silence, instead of contacting me get that problem resolved Not only the quality of the windows is questionable, but their service alone does not exist. This company is a No-No and don't deal with them There are much better windows companies out there in terms of quality and service. **★ — User, April 2016** > We ordered 2 custom fibreglass doors from a dealer in Clinton. Ontario. 3 weeks after we placed the order the factory informed us they cannot make fibreglass doors in the size we required. We had to re-order the doors in metal. We are still waiting for delivery of the doors (coming up on 10 weeks now). Every time we call we are told they will be delivered the following week.
