We had an initial vision of opening up the walls to update the dark apartment, but Chip's perspective and proposed layouts of our opened floorplans really made this into what it is now. We ended up doing a full gut- removing all interior walls, re-doing electrical and plumbing given the age of the apartment, but he was able to provide such a fresh design perspective on what we could do with the layout. His perspective on kitchen layout in particular, and overall utilization of the space (a commodity in Brooklyn!) was critical to the success of this project.
