> Kerry worked with us on a subdivision project that we were building, and she did an excellent job. Her vision and forward thinking was very aligned with our goals. Now we own a landscape company and we have worked with her firm as a contractor and have had very good working relationship. We have sent her clients to do design and we are always confident that the client will be happy.

**★★★★★ — Nancy Lyon, June 2013**

> Kerry was just who we needed for our project. She was detail focused, quick to return our phone calls/emails and sensitive to working within our budget. She combines an artistic talent with design expertise. One of the constraints of our project was working with in a small space with numerous sub-contractors. Additionally, we are in an historic district. She embraced the challenges with a "can-do" and make-it-happen attitude.

> The project at a private residence was to hardscape and landscape a yard (~0.2 acre) on a steep slope, and it was accomplished as planned over approximately a 1.5 year period. It included obtaining necessary permits, fixing drainage issues, designing and installing metal and wood arbors, a wood deck, a flagstone terrace, an outdoor kitchen, a bocce ball court, a large rock garden, interconnecting walkways, and a drip irrigation system for the plantings. The design for the hardscaping was professionally done and included survey-based, computer modeling to make sure everything fit together properly. Concrete work was employed for the outdoor kitchen (countertops, etc.), sitting wall, and steps. Concrete block was used for large planters. The landscaping was well thought out and included fruit and shade trees, schrubs, flowering plants, and vines, with room left over for vegetable gardens.

> The entire project was completed to our satisfaction with regard to aesthetics as well as quality of construction. It was a pleasure to work with KenCairn Landscape Architecture.

> KenCairn Landscape Architecture did a great job with our outdoor living space. The design reflected our desires for the space and Kerry consistently contributed ideas that improved the plan. Our project involved outdoor areas that were unusable in the summer because of direct sunlight and heat. Arbors were needed and the end result was fantastic. Financial estimates and time lines were accurate. We found that everyone involved in the project was helpful, pleasant, respectful, and honest. We highly recommend this company.

> After building our house, we engaged KenCairn to develop a 3-stage landscape design for about 1/2 acre. She listened to us and advised us as newcomers to the Pacific Northwest as to the best plants to use. Her designs were just what we wanted. She also gave us a realistic estimate of the costs involved not only for her designs, but for the landscape installations as well.
> Her guidance to Solid Ground, the firm that implemented the planting, and to our builder (for a water feature of her design and other hardscape features) were clear and precise.
> She supervised the projects from start to finish. We are delighted with the results.
> She is a true and dedicated professional. Anybody should be happy to avail themselves of her services.

> Faced with a homely house on more than an acre without a front door and so little exterior charm, Kerry put together a design team for both the house, the construction, the landscape design and the installation. Two years later, I was thrilled to call this HOME, not homely!! -- and six years later I am even more delighted! Over a year in the planning, Kerry was always enthusiastic, empathetic, creative and determined to bring her part of the project in on budget. As well, to provide me with a design that brought the outdoors in and allowed me to live a great deal of my indoor life in my outdoor rooms. Year around, I find my landscape design a joy and a pleasure to while away the hours with friends and in lovely solitude. Hang on for a great ride, as this is a courageous designer who knows good workable design and is willing to offer cutting edge ideas --meanwhile finding the right people to implement them. I enjoyed and continue to enjoy working with the team at KenCair Landscape Architecture.

  - Description: This beautiful property in an established Siskiyou Academy historic neighborhood has views of Mount Ashland, a southern exposure, numerous old trees for shade, and proximity to Lithia Park and downtown. The design reflects the owners’ interpretation of a true Craftsmen home, placing emphasis on natural materials, exposed construction elements, custom joinery and an organic color palette. These design elements help ensure that the home fits naturally into the site and neighborhood without mimicki…

  - Description: This rare property within walking distance through the forest to town elicited a design that celebrated views of the foothills while delicately nestled into the canopies of live oaks, madrones, and cedars of centuries old. The owners asked us to design a whimsical blending into the rusty red madrones and the green and gold leaves of the changing seasons. An existing detached barn with studio space was transformed into a home office and garage. Our inspiration was to express the “separateness” of…

  - Description: This project engaged our interest in short and long term master planning for multiple residential and agricultural structures, including the relationship to the landscape as a long term reclamation project via permaculture principles. We designed a short term studio residence (later to be converted to a guest facility) while the main house and agricultural structures are designed and constructed. The vision is to establish a residential working food farm and demonstrate a rebuilding of soil to r…

**Q: What is used for the edging for the gravel path?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: You can use whatever you have on hand that is strong enough to hold the steel in place. It will be below grade and not show.
