I am considering painting island a soft white. I would also consider the opposite. Any other recommendations or suggestions? A: Hi there! Something to consider: I don't know the market in your area, (not sure where you are located), but by the time you pay someone (who is skilled enough) to do you a good repaint/reface job, you may be a third of the way to the cost for a brand new kitchen. If you decide to repaint, I would consider painting the perimeter BM Linen White or BM White Dove. For the Island, what about a splash of color? Your cabinets have a hint of early american style so I would consider a color and distressed finish like below: **Q: At the end of build and I need help!** *(in Design Dilemma)* Im in the end of our house build and I have been doing all of the designing. Im starting to go crazy trying to do every room in the house and was hoping someone would have some insight or advice for me. Will oil rubbed bronze fixtures go with black hardware on my white doors (I have already purchase pendent lights for kitchen in ORB) or should I change the hardware to oil rubbed bronze too? Also, should my fans match the door hardware or my pendent lights? My wood floors are a grayish with browns and blacks and my cabinets are a dark chocolate. Just my opinion. :) **Q: Selling a house with neighbors' houses are too close** *(in Other)* How do you sell a house when the house gets comments that it is beautiful, looks like a model home, etc. The only negative we have heard is the other neighbors' houses are too close & not enough privacy in the backyard. We have planted trees and have bushes around our deck that makes it very private. Our house has been on the market for 2 years in the dayton, Ohio area and is for sale in the mid 400,000 range. We want to be done with selling the house at this point & just want to move on. Need advice you may have, but we do not want to give the house away. Good luck! **Q: Early American Farmhouse-under construction** *(in Before & After)* I'm always stunned when I find homes that are planted on a lot without any thought or consideration to its surrounding environment. I believe a home should consider its environment, views, breezes, and sunlight just as much as the function it serves its occupants. This Early American Farmhouse custom home (currently under construction) takes advantage of vistas from every direction and includes four exterior, covered porches. Tall ceilings allow for expansive views of the surrounding orchard and sky, and provide abundant natural light. The 12 ft. ceiling height on the first floor allows for extra tall windows and amazing views from the second floor windows and decks. Design, Build, and Enjoy!
