We have a modern farmhouse style with a nice blend of old and new. Should I use the same fabric on the shades throughout all rooms? The photo below is from our previous house, but illustrates our style preferences. Thank you in advance for tips, advice, etc.! A: I like roman shades and have made many in my career . I would perhaps change colors to go with bedrooms. All the same could be boring. **Q: POLL: Fabric or Leather Sofa?** *(in Polls)* When it comes to a sofa for your home, do you prefer to lounge on a fabric or leather one? VOTE and tell us about it in the comments! A: Fabric for me. Leather only if you shop wisely. I have personally had to recover some Bonded leather chairs where the top layer had peeled off, and had strong leather under the peeling surface. I see this often down here in Fl. **Q: Cabinets overhanging ones, keep or get rid of?** *(in Design Dilemma)* Updating the kitchen (Countertops and backsplashes). The cabinets that overhang the counter are great for storage but block the sightline to the dining room and views to the outdoors. I am thinking about getting rid of them or moving them (hanging them on a side wall in the kitchen). Perhaps even putting in clear glass panels to allow more natural light in the kitchen and still get a view into the dining area. I have banged my head plenty of times while talking with my dining guests! Does anyone have any ideas? Thoughts? A: take them down ! **Q: Seam in vinyl floor** *(in Design Dilemma)* In some spots on our new vinyl plank flooring you can see the seams, what could we do there to make them less noticeable and so dirt etc. doesn't get in there? A: I'm not sure of the best filler to use, you should ask the place you purchased it from. When you do fill it, I would vacuum , then run painters tape down each side of the space , before filling and troweling **Q: Overhead lights for island- need opinions!** *(in Design Dilemma)* So, we just got our overhead lights for our island and I am having a hard time getting used to them. Our island is huge, but the lights feel gigantic. I think something smaller may get lost, but am looking to get other opinions! Thanks so much for any insight! The first two pics are from my home. A: dimmer switch, I love them! **Q: Help - I cant decide which kitchen to get- traditional or modern** *(in Design Dilemma)* I have a huge dilemma I love 2 kitchen designs for my victorian house, but I can't decide which one to go for and i need to finalize plans ASAP. I've attached pics below so your feedback would be greatly appreciated.. One design is a beautiful off white matte traditional kitchen and the other design is a beautiful white high gloss kitchen....
