Concrete log siding can cost $800-$1200 a square ($8-$12 per square foot). Vinyl log siding can cost $300-$500 a square ($3-$5 per square foot). > We purchased land and a small home with multiple colored siding. UGLY! We went with Tru Log siding and look at it now! Best investment we ever made. Even put up a new well house and used Tru Log to finish it. Great product and proudly American made. Ya can't beat that. Installed by Korzan Windows and Siding, Stratford, Oklahoma. Thank you

**★★★★★ — Jim and Ronda McIntosh, Sept. 2022**

> I was very happy with the TruLog Siding company. The product looks very nice after it is all installed, and I was happy to be able to purchase the siding and install it myself. I saved some money by installing it myself, and I took some pride in doing it. Also, the videos that are online on the TruLog Siding website were very helpful also. I ran just a little short on the J-Channel, and I called the company, and they quickly sent me out what I needed. The people at TruLog were very kind and helpful also. I would recommend this product to anyone wishing to place steel siding on a home or building of some sort. It did take me some time, but I could work on it as I had time to do it. I truly thank the TruLog Siding company and all of the people that work for the company for their help and their product. I have attached a couple of before photos, along with some finished photos. Thank you so very much!

> I cannot say enough good things about TruLog and their staff. Without a doubt, the very best customer service I've encountered in my 60 years! Ryan was available 24/7, even answering my texts on weekends. Very impressive! He worked tirelessly to ensure my builder had all the materials needed for the A-frame home we are building. Not an easy task given some of the unique window shapes and angles on the front of the house. Then there's the product itself -- so authentic looking and durable! Added bonus, much easier to care for than actual logs. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND anyone considering log siding give TruLog a call! Absolutely the best in product and customer service!

**★★★★★ — Alan Lyons, Nov. 2016**

> We had been looking for steel siding for our home when a friend sent us information for TruLog Steel Log Siding. We fell in love with the product and contacted the company. Ted & Ryan are professional and very knowledgable. We decided to purchase their product in the new color, Red Cedar and are very happy with it. They worked with us and was there to help us every step of the way and any way they could. The quality of this siding is excellent and the warranty is outstanding. People are amazed when they find out its steel siding and not logs. AWESOME looking.
> You can't go wrong with this company, their products and professionalism.

> I found this company online while searching for siding. I was looking for real wood siding but didn't want the constant maintenance. This seemed to be the best cost effective way for me. I purchased the new Red Ceder line and looked jaw dropping in person! The only complaints made were the carpenter's saying it was hard to cut. Well from a homeowner standpoint the stronger the better. I also noticed while the steel expands and contracts there's a slight crackle barely noticeable. Overall this product is great and has a outstanding warranty.

> TruLog Steel siding was the perfect solution for a maintenance free cabin. I built the perfect get away cabin in PA and with TruLog siding I don't need to worry about it holding up to the elements. The siding turned out gorgeous and I highly recommend it to anyone. The company was very responsive to my needs & great to work with. I am concidering replacing the vinyl siding of my primary home with TruLog as well because it is just so much nicer.

> I bought the red cedar tin, and it looks great. I am not a professional builder, but I built my own house, and I found this quite easy to do, providing you follow the videos. I tried a couple of shortcuts, which turned into long cuts, but when I followed the videos, it was quite easy and looks great.

**★★★★ — TED ASHCRAFT, Oct. 2016**

> I HIRED JEFF GILLMAN A LOCAL SIDING CONTRACTOR TO INSTALL SIDING ON THE HOUSE IN 2015. IN 2016, I EXTENDED THE ROOF OVER THE DECK ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE HOUSE. JEFF.S BID FOR THE PROJECT WAS MORE THAN I COULD AFFORD THIS YEAR. SO CONTACTED A FRIEND WHO HELPED WITH THE ROOF EXTENSION. I DID THE SIDING ON THAT PORTION.

**Comment from TruLog Siding:**

> Thank you for taking the time to review us, Ted. We have pictures of your cabin on our page!

**★★★★★ — James Davis, Oct. 2016**

> I used TruLog metal siding to cover my mountain home in May, 2014. I had the material shipped to my address near Westcliffe, Colorado. I was 76 years old at the time and had no problems putting the siding up by myself. Looks good and helped to further insulate my home. The metal siding helped make my home less vulnerable to fires, too.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Has anyone used this product to cover a log home?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Sorry we have not gotten back to you on this question! You sure can use our product over a log home. Do you have full logs? Inside and out?

**Q: Exterior color help for Colorado mountain home** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hi,

We are in the process of repainting our house in Colorado. It is a well-known, older home in the area, and has a lot of character, which we need to respect. It sits on slightly over an acre of grass and ponderosa pine and includes the main house, a barn style garage, and a small guest house cottage. The current color scheme, with brown green and yellow, is outdated and we want something new, but also need and want to keep it in character. Any thoughts or ideas would be most welcome!

A: Colorado has an array of different woodsy colors so we see your problem! We think more of a natural red wood or pine tone would look great. Red Cedar is a great color

**Q: Colorado Mountain Home** *(in Before & After)*

Wish to design Colorado Mountain Home on 5 acre lot with a majestic view. To have
approximately 8 bedrooms and baths - a half story and full walkout basement.

A: It can be a fun and draining process designing your home. One option is to stick frame your home (conventional framing) and install a maintenance free, log siding on the outside so you dont have to worry about maintaining it. Steel Log Siding is a great option. Check it out

**Q: Will this style home do well on acrage in Colorado?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Wife and I want to build a custom dream home on property in CO.

A: That is a gorgeous house. Some folks also consider the country feel to be a log home. Here are some examples

**Q: Help/ideas needed for Exterior Mtn Home** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Need some ideas on how to spruce up the exterior. Paint/landscaping. I need to paint in the next month or so. This home is in the Colorado mountains at 8,200 ft altitude, so limited on some landscaping. Home built into hillside. Back is stucco on lower level (walk out basement) and siding on upper 2 levels. No rock. Lots of sun / snow exposure. I'm pretty open - although the river rock needs to stay due to budget. One day, I'd like to upgrade the stone though. I am all over the board on paint colors. Any ideas would be appreciated :)

A: Something new to the scene of mountain homes in Colorado is steel log siding. You get the look of a log home without the maintenance. Something to consider! Check it out

**Q: Log cabin sand blasting** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I fear the only course of action I can take on getting my cabin to where it needs to be for restaining is to sand blast. I reached out to the only cob/soda blasters within 2 hours of the cabin and their estimates were through the roof high. Since I cannot rent a cob blaster seemingly anywhere a sand blaster is the only readily available option. The cabin is hard old Chestnut no I'm not too worried about tearing up the wood like if it were Fir or Pine but anyone have some advise or pointers for me? What size compressor would I need?

A: Hi Thomas, thank you for your question. I dont know the specific answer to your fire code question. We have had numerous people install our steel log siding over their current log home structure without push back from fire code. The steel log siding is more fire resistance than a stained a log home, thats for sure. Our theory is that homes with steel will have a better chance against fires vs traditional log homes. Now, if the fire is strong enough, it will blow the windows out of a home and burn it from the inside out, cant get around that. This is from our experience
