With smart technology, an in-home stereo, stylish gas stove and all the modern features we could ever ask for, it feels like a dream. The interior design studio offered endless options for colors, tiles, and countertops, allowing us to personalize our space beautifully. Bobby Lubojasky, the Construction Manager, who oversaw the build, was incredibly knowledgeable, experienced, and kept us updated every step of the way. Five months in, and we love our new home more than ever! We’ve had numerous issues which they refuse to fix. Our flooring is coming up at the seams in many places. > > We submitted a warranty request, and their solution was to reglue it to the floor. However, after consulting with a floor specialist, it appears the floor was not installed correctly. > > We shared this information with our warranty specialist, Mike Davis, but he claimed that we chose a “low-grade material,” so it's our fault that it's coming up at the seams. Back in last quarter of 2020, we were very excited to build our first home. After some house hunt, we decided to go with Shaddock as we liked their beautiful Plans and Elevations. My husband signed contract with Shaddock homes in Last quarter of 2020 and sales Manager anticipated a closing in next 8 months. 18 Months later, Shaddock construction Managers still cannot provide any closing dates for next 4 months. We are currently locked in a situation where we cannot terminate this current contract and move-on, because of huge rise in house prices. And we cannot wait any longer, as interest rates were doubling every month. > > Shaddock Homes failed terribly in procuring both Labor and Materials needed both during pandemic and post-pandemic. We along with multiple other future owners waited on Windows for 6+ months while other builders around the area(like Trophy , Toll Brothers , MiHomes to name a few) delivered their houses within 6-8months in 2021(perhaps faster in 2022). Shaddock couldn't procure any white brick while others somehow had it. Shaddock homes kept quoting material / Labor shortages but somehow that only applies to Shaddock and nobody else. Construction managers never responds to their customer queries even on multiple follow-ups. This tells how well the Corporate / Management is managing the company and how much they care about their customer needs and to be competitive with other builders. > > Since we signed our contract, we had been living in an apartment and extended our lease 4 times so far, due to lack of Shaddock's clarity on when our house would close. We feel like Shaddock homes robbed us of having a proper house where our kid would have loved to roam around. Unlike the current situation, where buying a new home is competitive and expensive, back in 2020, we had several other choices. We should have gone with other builders and we could be already be living in our dream house for almost a year now, with a much lower 2.5% APR on our mortgage.
