New Home demo was postponed once for driveway issues. After arriving for the scheduled demo, we found 1/3 of drive had been dug up and replaced. It no longer matched the upper drive in color or textured. Cleanup was sloppy. Home Demo found missing shutters, light fixtures, holes in walls covered by appliances, no ship lap as required, rusted hardware used and missing and broken glass in windows and accent areas. Met with upper management who agreed the home was not ready for a walk thru. Project manager stated Truland was not going to do anything with the drive and if we didn't take it like it was, they would tack $33,00 to the price and sell it to someone else. It was at this time we gave Truland a bill for $2,000 for scheduling and having us drive 600 miles to a New Home Demo that was not even ready to be seen. After giving them 3 weeks to correct deficiencies, we arrived for another Demo. The deficiencies had been corrected, but Truland stood fast that they were not going to do anything to the drive, so we withdrew our contract as buyers. Within 24 hours Truland had done exactly what the project manager said and tacked $58,999 to the price and relisted it on line. We then wrote to the President and Division President about the issues. Not only did we never receive a response, we never received any reimbursement for the first unprofessional walk thru we attended. We would NOT recommend working with a company that operates in such a manner. As a side note, we never got a response from either the President or Division President and never received any compensation for the first trip we had to make. **★ — cottagelady215, July 2022** > No warranty after the sale. It has been a fight to get items repaired that are under warranty. Warranty stated punch list items were the responsibility of the builder. If Truland is not the builder who is. I am inclined to remove the frog from my stove vent and let it loose in the Truland warranty office. I have been trying to get the vent pipe fixed since we moved in in December. The warranty manager Dave Higgins told me have cold air come in your vent pipe (32degree in cabinet) is ok and they refused to check pipe at roof. Now we have a water leak and a frog in the vent pipe. Cover was not nailed to roof or sealed. Months of fighting which is unnecessary. Watch out **★★ — HU-199066287, June 2022** > We bought our home while it was under construction. We were living out of state at the time and were dependent on Truland to complete the home with high standards for quality control. It is a nice home with finishes that are very appealing at a premium price. The problems are multiple starting with the interior of the home little or no QAQC for the slab finish. The hardwood flooring was installed on the slab without correcting the highs and lows. Very oblivious to the untrained eye. This is in every room where HW is installed. Secondly, the interior door trim on two of the exit doors are finished with a 1/2 bead of caulk. This is due to poor workmanship during rough-in. Moving to the exterior of the home is lack of attention to proper drainage. Water is trapped in areas where the sidewalk and driveway contact the sodden areas. There is evidence of water undermining the flat work. This is a problem throughout the neighborhood. I estimate 15K to correct the problem. This is in the Stonebridge Community. Production over quality is evident. **★ — jeffrey property group llc, Jan. 2021** > We would not recommend working with this company. We have been under contract since August on a home that was expected to be completed beginning of January. After giving a large deposit our home has sat with almost no work being done for 3 months. They are unable to hire subcontractors and do not communicate at all with their buyers on delays. What work has been done was not up to par at all, floors uneven, pipes leaking, roof in bad shape etc Save yourself a nightmare and choose a different builder. **★★ — William Winkler, Oct. 2019** > Bought home in Retreat at Tiawasee in 2019. Floor plans and home are visibly appealing but quality and details need to be improved. Over the past 12 months I've had to deal with issues caused by builder. Everything from replacing wood framing around garage door to sanding uneven sub-floors. Paint and carpet are sub-standard. At the price point for Truland homes I would expect better quality home. **★ — Kristen Stapleton, Jan. 2017** > I have lived in Old Battles Village for 3 years, since Truland decided to build the second phase of the development they have had No concern for the neighborhood and people that have bought homes here. > Like the other review I paid for a for a premium lot and have had 18 wheeler, 23 ft wheeler trucks going through the neighborhood. They refuse to build a construction entrance due to cost, I suppose that the quality of life for the current home owners are of no concern.. I bought a home on a residential street ,paid extra for a premium lot. > The truth is bought into a 7 + year heavy equipment truck route running by my front door. No told me or my neighbors this would happen because no one would ever buy here.They sold a lie , remember I was buying a premium lot in a secluded area of the development. $300k invested can not get it back.DO NOT BUY TRULAND. > . **★★★★ — amy808, March 2015** > Semi custom home being built right now. Very nice folks that are very helpful and do good quality work on the construction of the home. However I find the choices of what they offer on the interior selection is somewhat limited and so if you want something different its all an upgrade and cost additional.
