Each has been unique in motivation to complete the project, scope of work, timeline to complete the project, and budget. Lela never failed to meet our expectations in any of these areas, and in fact, surpassed all of them. > > For our first project, we needed to make our recently remodeled home feel less stark and more warm and inviting. In short, our house was grey and white. We had the basic furniture we needed, but lacked rugs, accent tables, art, dining room chairs and a few other accessories here and there. Lela consistently sources high quality materials and decor that complimented our style. She worked diligently to find unique pieces and offered us multiple options which allowed make informed decisions without feeling overwhelmed. The execution of the project was flawless. Lela works with a team of professionals who placed our rugs, console table, chairs and art perfectly and in a timely manner. Thanks to Lela, our home no longer feels stark and cold, but has a touch of flair and color that it previously lacked. > > Our second opportunity to work with Lela was remodeling a mid-rise condominium that we purchased for my mother who was moving from Houston after my father passed away. She had never lived by herself as she had been married since she was 20 years old, so it was important to make her condo reflect her preferences and make her transition to Baltimore as easy as possible. My mom was 73 at the time and there were safety considerations that needed to be made. Lela guided us through the decisions regarding placement of grab bars, keeping walkways open, and other considerations we would not have thought of. In the living room, Lela helped me select a new sofa and chairs and helped me select upholstery to recover throw pillows and stools. I really appreciate Lela's flexibility in how we worked together. For the furniture, we went shopping together. However, for the upholstery, I shopped and brought home samples of what I liked and then she came to my house to offer her input and help me finalize my choices. In our office and guest room, I wanted to replace the carpet and repaint the walls. This also included replacing the carpet on the stairs leading up to the 3rd floor. I had seen a carpet in a friend's house that I really liked and had the name of the place she purchased it. So I picked up the sample and brought it home and then Lela brought her paint colors over. When I showed Lela the the color I liked for the carpet, she tactfully brought to my attention that given the high traffic and heavy wear and tear on the stairs, I might want to consider another color, or at least be prepared to need to clean regularly. That feedback was extremely helpful and influenced my color choice. We then selected paint and trim colors. Lela ordered larger paint swatches to be mailed to me. When they arrived, I realized the paint colors didn't work with the other colors throughout our house. Lela made time to quickly come back over and help me select a different color. her quick response meant we could start the project on schedule. I appreciate Lela's flexibility on how she works with me, ranging from her doing the shopping for me, to me doing the shopping and her offering her opinion on what I pick out, to us going shopping together. I like her practical feedback given that our house gets a lot of wear and tear with 3 teenage kids. She is also able to work within my budget and help me make choices accordingly.
