Strouse Davis Architecture is a personable full-service architecture firm. Its origins date back to ’91 as KSI Architecture and Planning, founded by California native, William (Bill) Strouse. Over the years the firm has evolved, fluctuating in both size and location. In 2019 Bill took on Sara and Kyle Davis as partners and the era of Strouse Davis Architecture began.

Strouse Davis Architecture is a versatile firm, with years of experience in commercial, industrial, tenant improvements, new custom residential, renovations and additions, and multifamily. We work closely with our clients every step of the way. As a 4-person firm – all of which are registered professionals – our clients are guaranteed to get exceptional service and attention.

We see design as a collaboration with our clients in which our design expertise and their vision come together to exceed expectations. In addition to our client’s goals, some basic design principles we are always looking to incorporate are the inclusion of natural light, indoor-outdoor connections, pragmatic functionality, and the inherent qualities of a site; whether that be an undeveloped lot of land or an old vacant building to be renovated.

Strouse Davis Architecture is a full-service firm, which means we can assist with your project every step of the way; from conception – before a property has even been purchased – design and jurisdictional permitting, through construction administration and final occupancy. The design and construction of a building is often a tremendous undertaking, and we strive to ensure a positive experience from beginning to end.

> My husband is a builder and works with lots of different architects. He had a few ideas, but KSI came in and provided us with great support and guidance. The team was wonderful to work with and they exceeded all of our expectations. Soon our very plain 70's style house was transformed into a modern home with great presence and a much better floor plan for our growing family.

> I hired KSI initially as my architect on a commercial/retail property-- about 3700 square feet. I started with no design in mind. They designed a very attractive building, and worked closely with the contractor throughout the project. The building is very attractive, efficient and unique. I could not be happier with the result. After they completed that project, my wife and I were so pleased with their work that we hired them to design a barbeque area with stone and a trellis in our backyard. Again the project is beautiful, and they have stuck with the project throughout. They develop very practical and yet unique spaces. I recommend them highly. Further, they are very nice people!

> We had a difficult project that required sensitivity to the architecture of our 1926 house along with a serious structural challenge. We needed to expand our lower deck, add a major trellis system but most importantly design and build a 2 story screen in order to regain privacy from a 3 story "hummer house" that was built next door.
> The end result was a privacy screen that fits very well with our vintage house. The structural components were engineered and built in such a manner that our territorial view was not compromised, which was a major concern. KSI's architects keenly listened to us and met our needs to the fullest extent. We are most pleased with the end result and have received great compliments from friends and neighbors.

> Any architect can design a house for you. But if you want to build your dream home, you need an excellent architect firm. I am really lucky that I hired KSI back in 2011.
>
> Bill and Aso took time to talk to my wife, my daughters and me to understand what we like and what we dislike before they started their design work. They visited the building site several times to find out the best location and best orientation of the house, to see if all the windows and doors are properly located, and to care for many other details (sun light, shade, view, wind, rain, privacy, … etc.). They helped us overcome many environmental restrictions because our building site is at an environmental-sensitive area. They were budget-sensitive knowing that we had limited budget. They communicated with the builder frequently to make sure that the house was built as what we want (yes, there were lots of design changes). They were so detail-oriented that even a picky person like me could not complain about their work. All my neighbors and friends like our house. My family and I love our new home
>
> Well, there is one thing that my daughters might complain – the house is so comfortable that my wife and I do not want to travel now.
>
> If you are looking for a cheap architect to design a house, KSI is not your choice. If you want to build your dream home, I highly recommend that you should talk to Bill.

> My husband and I hired Bill and Sara to remodel our kitchen/tv area/mudroom. From day 1, it was a very easy, enjoyable experience. I highly recommend using this firm for your project. (Another experience I had 14 years ago with an architect was difficult.) Bill and Sara came to our house and listened very closely to both of us. Sara's follow up from our first visit was extremely detailed. I felt very comfortable and confident with what she heard from us. They gave us 4 different layouts to remodel our kitchen/TV room. We took a little from each layout and ended up with the most wonderful room that we both love. They designed the room with our back patio and back yard in mind. It incorporates all that we love about our house. We wanted to choose most of our finishes, but when we got stuck, Sara stepped in and had very creative ideas that we did choose to do. Sara helped us with some cabinet design work that just made the room perfect. Again, I strongly recommend this firm. You will be very glad you chose them.

> I have worked with KSI Architecture on a design/build project in Moses Lake, WA for Genie Industries (manufacturer of high reach equipment.) I was so impressed with this firm and with the members of this firm, that I hired them to design the renovations to my personal home on Lake Washington.
> I have found them to be professional, courteous, knowledgeable and easy work with. The design work the firm does is both functional and pleasing to the eye.
> I would recommend them to any individual or company who is looking for an honest, professional experience with a State of Washington based architectural firm.

Situated in the middle of the densely populated Beacon Hill Neighborhood, it’s surprisingly serene, made possible through the protection of the vegetation and hillside. A small slice of coveted refuge in the city, the site created many challenges, primarily the steep hillside known to have the potential for landslides. For this reason, special attention was taken to the structural system to ensure s…

  - Description: While the Owners were happy with the upper floor of their home, the lower lever was in need of a kitchenette to supplement the existing pool table area, theatre room, and patio space often used for entertaining guests. Since they didn’t wish to give up any exterior space with an addition to the house, there was a dark and scarcely used storage room that could be taken advantage of. In order to make the new kitchenette area accessible, a wall was simply removed to open it up to the room. Though t…

Their favorite room to be in became an even cozier space to spend their days. Removing an old brick chimney-wall allowed the space to get longer, while the addition widened the space.
