The tiled bathroom would obviously be higher than the rest of my floor. Is this acceptable??? A: Oh sure! Keep in mind it will be cold-even though concrete is probably cold too, lol. There are lots of nice transition pieces that will work. You can also do LVT-with a lower profile than tiles, which would probably be more ideal and warmer :) Send pics when you decide. Taking a trip to a flooring co (not HD, etc) will educate you much more before doing something you may not be happy with after its too late Good luck :) **Q: vertical blind alternatives?** *(in Home Decorating)* What are some affordable alternatives to vertical blinds? With my dogs, these blinds often break and would kick rather something else. About 7ft length, 9ft height A: Do you need to do blinds or could you do another type of window treatment? Hope this helps :) **Q: How light color affects cabinet color** *(in Lighting)* Our electrician loaned us a light that has a selector switch to change the color temperature. I used it to evaluate 2 different color finishes on some quartersawn white oak, my goal is to have the oak look as close to "freshly sanded" as possible without looking yellow/orange. All of these pics are in same spot, just changing the light color. I thought it was amazing how much more yellow you see when the light is warm vs. cool. Next up is checking the wood color in daylight tomorrow. But this was too interesting to not share, I didn't realize how much light can impact cabinets. A: I am a total 100W girl with 5k in my kitchen. I try to get all my clients do the same as the kitchen really needs bright bright lighting. Easy on the eyes and so much more functional. Good luck, hope this helps **Q: Cortec Plus Enhanced Vinyl Flooring Canary Oak** *(in Flooring)* hello I am considering installing Cortec Enhanced Vinyl flooring. We are looking at Canary Oak. Has anyone installed this color? Any pics would be appreciated. Anyone have experience with Cortec? would you recommend it? A: I love Cortec for my clients. It is a more expensive line, but not sure if I have sold the Canary Oak. But the variance is very soft with Cortec. One thing-if you have other wood flooring in your home, the colors can get very busy because most of their patterns have several colors! the durability of Cortec is superior Good luck! **Q: hot weather mini blinds** *(in Polls)* Heat kind of mini blinds are best for windows in the hot Florida sun? Vinyl? Faux wood? Aluminum? A: I would skip the metal-gets hot-plus they bend and scar easily. The plastic faux wood is awesome! I design and have a house in Alabama (Live in GB WI right now) and they have done great there. Also, plantation shutters are awesome looking, and timeless.
