> We had been back and forth for over a year on whether to renovate our home & stay or move. The idea of renovating with kids, work, (life!) was stressful - but so was a move and likely having to make changes wherever we landed. Several of our neighbors had recently worked with Charleene and highly recommended her. We knew when we first met with her that she was the right fit. She talked with us about the pros/cons of making changes or moving, presented us with recommendations in a very consultative and collaborative way. She was very transparent about the costs associated with the project and very organized around execution and timing. We all agreed that there could be unforeseen circumstances and kept a very open line of communication throughout the project - she would contact us at the end of each week to touch base, provide any updates she had from her end and let us know what to expect during the upcoming week. They could not have been more considerate of our home and the spaces they were working in, maintaining clean (as clean as can be during renovations :)) working environment. The project was completed on time and we couldn't be happier with the end result. Everything that I mention above, these are non-negotiables for Charleene. She is committed to ensuring her customers are beyond satisfied with the work she does. Even AFTER the project was completed, she continued to be responsive to questions or minor requests that we had. We plan to remodel our kitchen in 2025 and will absolutely work with her only. Our 2024 project included a large 'bonus' family room with built-in custom closet, mudroom, half bath, master bedroom suite (bedroom/bath/closets). I echo the sentiments of so many of your customers, Charleene - you & your team are amazing, thank you for everything!!

> Charleene’s Houses completed a total bathroom remodel for us. Charleene and her team helped guide us through every step of the process and we love our new bathroom space!

> Long story short, HIRE HER and never look back! We bought a fixer upper with absolutely no plan in place, and we only had 3 weeks until closing so there was not much time to interview contractors, figure out a game plan, begin on selections etc. We met with a few other GCs and they were all vague around budget and/or timeline which would not work in our situation. Charleene came to our home inspection and was very clear on what we could and could not accomplish with our budget and timeline. Charleene’s dream team jumped right in and gave us the confidence they could make it happen. 12 weeks after closing we moved in with a completed reno. After talking to others who have gone through home renovations they are completely shocked at what was accomplished in such a short amount of time: kitchen gutted, flooring and doors throughout, relocating dining room and closet, creating a 2nd office, mudroom, pantry, wallpaper removal, updating old electrical, etc. Our designer Janine nailed the layout with very little guidance; she is a mind reader and a magician. Our project manager Brian was a great communicator, so helpful and just a good guy that we liked having around. Charleene is always available (several late night texts and emails answered immediately - sorry and thank you!) and because of her years of experience she had valuable insights that we took to heart. There were times she’d steer us away from an idea since she knew it wouldn’t be the best for us in the long run even if it would have given her more business. Alternatively there were times she’d recommend something to us that we never would have thought of and we were so glad she did. Late in the reno we decided to add hardwoods to the upstairs and she made it happen with no complaints. Their craftsmanship, project management and ease of doing business with is unmatched. We have an endless list of projects that we hope to complete over the years and Charleene will be our first and only call.

> Charleene and her crew just completed a complete gut and remodel of our kitchen. We are so pleased with all of the work that was done and love our shiny new kitchen.
> From the very start when we first met Charleene, to the design phase working with Janine, to the contractors that did all of the work, everyone was courteous and delivered to us just the kind of kitchen that we had envisioned. Thank you!!!!

> Working with Charleene and her team on our kitchen/ first floor renovation project was a pleasure. Her team was professional, knowledgeable, and conscientious when working in our home. They were always considerate of our family and pets. Communication with Charleene and her team was easy. We were always kept informed of progress and scheduling. The renovated space is both beautiful and functional. We would highly recommend Charleene's houses and would use them for future projects.

**★★★★★ — Youngblood Family, May 2024**

> While we love our home, and have had work done in several different areas, our very small and dated kitchen was a constant source of family conflict. Our tiny kitchen was constrained by thick stone exterior walls and a set of steps leading to our lower level. In addition to minimal space, our pantry was a nightmare.
>
> We e-mailed Charleene and team with a plea for help, and help is exactly what they did.
>
> Upon walking into our house, Charleene immediately generated possibilities to solve our problem. This lead to two sets of design plans for us to choose from. After saving for years, we selected the team at Charleene’s Houses because we were purchasing more than a kitchen renovation, we purchased:
> 1\. Access to the best design team in the state of Maryland, including professional assistance picking out materials, all while staying within our budget
> 2\. A team of quality craftsman, plumbers, electricians
> 3\. Project Management - removing 100% of the daily ‘worries’ off of our plate
> 4\. Quick and easy access to the team, via a group text
> 5\. 100% transparency on all costs and fees, and a highly professional contract process
> 6\. Service - Charleene runs a very tight ship, and the level of service provided by Charleene and team was impeccable
>
> At the close of our project, we feel we have made several new friends, helped to co-create an elevated family friendly space with kind and passionate design professionals who had the utmost respect for our home and budget.
>
> I can see why Charleene’s company is called “Charleene’s Houses.” She treated my home as if it were her own- with incredible attention to detail, and an eye for perfection. The results show in our new space.
>
> Thank you, Charleene and team.

> My wife and I recently contracted with Charleene’s House to help renovate a bonus room and convert it into a bar that leads out to our pool. We’ve done a number of renovations over the years with a variety of contractors and had mixed results / experiences; however, this renovation exceeded all our expectations. We were recommended to work with Charleene from a friend, and had closely followed her work on Instagram. The quality of work and craftsmanship of their carpenters is unmatched. They left no nail hole unfilled, no piece of molding unpainted, no small detail over looked, and the cherry on top was they finished ahead of schedule. Workers showed up when they said they would, left the work site clean and were always very respectful. Charleene’s son Jason was our project manager, and I would give his project oversight and communication a 10/10. The all-in pricing for the project felt very fair, and Charleene was respectful of our budgeting and always tried to come up with solutions that would fit the pricing parameters we’d laid out early on. As we told Charleene, we are so thrilled with how this project turned out that we’re already starting to dream up the next renovation to have them come help with. Pictures show the BEFORE and AFTER. Unfortunately we’re still waiting on a lot of furniture and decor, but will have to upload more photos once all that arrives to give the final feel.

> We loved working with Charleene and her team on our new addition and patio. We were home improvement newbies and Charleene guided us in making smart choices that helped us keep the historic character of our home while introducing loads of light and modern touches. Both Charleene and Jason are attentive and kind and were quick to problem-solve and keep us on schedule even when weather-related challenges arose. We were especially impressed with their responsive communication, design vision, and gorgeous carpentry work. It was clear they care about quality and relationships. Would work with them again!

**★★★★★ — Revolve Design Shop, Jan. 2024**

> Charleene’s Houses made our house finally feel like a home. Her team collaborated with us to help us achieve the kitchen of our dreams, and an overall design that is flexible and will grow with our family. Our project manager, Jason, was in constant communication with us, ensuring that we were involved in decisions made on site, and that our design intent was met thru and thru. Thank you to all of Charleene’s team for all of your efforts, guidance, and patience in the renovation process!

**★★★★★ — HU-110172911, Jan. 2024**

> Charlene was very knowledgeable and able to provide us with computer generated drawings so we could have a vision for what was to be done. The teams were very professional and provided quality work in the agreed upon time frame. Communication was clear throughout. I would highly recommend

**★★★★★ — HU-143166832, Jan. 2024**

> We had an excellent final product which finished ahead of schedule and under budget. We had a full basement renovation, including laundry room and bathroom. We have young children, and the project manager went above and beyond to make the whole renovation experience as smooth as possible for our family. I cannot recommend this team highly enough.

**★★★★★ — HU-285314554, Jan. 2024**

> Charleene’s Houses did an outstanding job on my basement renovation! They delivered high-quality work on schedule and on budget. They were responsive to my requests. They were transparent on proposal, invoices and change orders. Selecting a service provider for a home project is as much about trust as capability and Charleene’s Houses delivers on both!

## Community Q&A

**Q: where can I buy the Vanity** *(in Photo Questions)*

I love the colour of the vanity. Could you tell me the colour and if the vanity is available in 72 inch.
Where can I purchase the vanity

A: I'm so sorry but it was custom made for the customers

**Q: Stunning Work! Quick ?, can you please help?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Stunning work! Thank you for sharing. I am in the middle of a kitchen remodel and have all the cabinets. I have placed a large order for Cafe appliances that as many I’m struggling with the handles hardware for the cabinets to match the brushed bronze. Your handles are my favorite! Can you please tell me where I can buy them ..and maker, model and size?

A: Id' love to see a picture of your finished project...

**Q: The white complements the navy. What is the particular white color?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Thanks

A: Those are US Cabinet Depot Shaker White Cabinets

**Q: Can you share details for the folding teak benches?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I’m looking for more info on the teak benches: primarily the dimensions and the type or brand of hardware. How do they fold and stay open? We want something similar that we haven’t found “off-the-shelf” and so far the contractor is concerned about liability of building custom size. If these were custom made, can you share who made them? Thank you!

A: They were custom made by a cabinet shop in Pennsylvania that the owner knew, so I don't have the name of the shop. IT has special locking hinges on the backing and folding legs on the front,
so it can hold the homeowner's weight. We did have issues at first with the hardware rusting so be issue to request that all components be stainless.

**Q: Island paint color** *(in Photo Questions)*

what color paint is the island?

A: Im so sorry I don't have the color name anymore. It was a Sherwin Williams dark grey blue color

**Q: Who makes these mirrors?** *(in Photo Questions)*

They're gorgeous

A: Hi Karen, Im so sorry but I no longer have that information.
