**Q: Help me decide countertop please!** *(in Polls)*

These are my cabinets (Kraftmaid Cherry with Peppercorn Stain 
and Kraftmaid Maple in Canvas

It is pictured with the LG Aria quartz, which I really like, I just wish the
veining and lines were thicker or smudgier if that makes sense.  
However, I dont want the counter to be "overpowering" and too dark.

Please help or insert your own suggestions.  I am partial to Quartz
because of less chance of variations in the overall look.

A: One other small piece of advice to add to Jason Conaway's great comments about living with your materials for a while.  Don't forget to look at the materials in the orientation that you will be using them.  Cabinet wood, backsplash material, and paint chips should be vertical and countertops and flooring should be horizontal.  It can make a big difference in how they look!

What brand and colour is the flooring?

A: The flooring is Armstrong Marmorette in Bamboo Tan.  The color is very warm and linoleum is nice under foot.  Plus it has the added benefit of having a subtle pattern that's busy enough to not show every speck of dirt.

A: I think it may be this tile. (Look on pg 54 of the catalog.)  The picture is very small, so it's a bit hard to tell, but it is called Geologica.  Good luck!  I know what it's like to "find" what you want, and then not be able to "find" it!

We would like to use it as rental property and build a house on the remaining 7 acres but I don't think we would have any success with it looking like it does on the outside.  My husband remodeled the inside of the house and it looks great, unfortunately, the outside won't get many people in.  I would like to get ideas from any of you regarding painting the brick, rock, trim, door, windows, walkway, etc.  What materials could you see being used?  The front is the rock and brick, side has vinyl siding and the back is brick and concrete blocks.  Also have the shed that needs to be painted to match the house.  Thanks!** *(in Other)*

I would also agree that you might try something in the grays for your paint color.  I used Benjamin Moore colors for mine: Bear Creek (a gray with a lot of brown in it) for the siding, Ashley Gray for the trim and Sweet Rosy Brown (\#1302, which looks drab on my screen but is really a lovely deep red) for the front door.  BM has a paint visualizer on their site as well if you want to play around with their colors.

A: Nice work!  I second what tmnicol says, altho I would go w/ the Taymac Masque paintable wall plates, available at Home Depot.  They will really disappear.  (You can see one on my photo above.)  Countertops are tough because it's hard to do them inexpensively.  I would also agree that you should prime and paint the ceiling tiles.  I have seen it done in a dark color (to match wenge trim) and it looked very good.  The dark made the little holes less obvious, but that may not work for you.  You might want to consider using a 50% or 25% version of your wall color to keep in that same family but lighter.
