This is what I have so far, looking for any advice at all how to move forward with this look. I realize I have clutter in the background but please try to ignore it..lol. A: Gray walls, combined with other neutrals in the gray family, white, black, gray are in the cool family. Easily spark some excitement in your family room with warm fuchsia, reds, rust tones on your accessories. Your easiest path would be to go bold with a warm area rug and matching pillows. If that is too scary, get an area rug in the same neutral family as your couches. IE. a gray-black rug like above, then layering in hot pillow colors and warm art work. www.CompanyC.com has great rugs and coordinated pillows and throws. **Q: Living Room** *(in Design Dilemma)* Well, here it goes. I just purchased my first home and am looking for some color scheme advice. Below is pictures of the living room. I was thinking something like a light grey. However, the issue I seem to run into has do do with the wood trim and the shadow boxes. I am not sure how to go about selecting a color scheme that would work with the wood floor. Any ideas are much appreciated. A: One last thing, although I love gray walls, I would do yours in a warm beige to compliment your green couches. Earth tones like green, brown, wheat and rust look great together. think Fall in New England. **Q: Window treatment help** *(in Design Dilemma)* Hello, I'd like to add some window treatments to soften up this room. However I don't think I'm in the position to add a lot of treatments at this time. So I'm wondering if I can pull off one long curtain panel where the picture is on the wall currently without having to put curtains in the dining nook. Here is the picture of my room, and here are some inspiration pictures. I'd like to do kind of a half rod thing. I guess my main question is could I pull off this look without the room looking only halfway done? A: Fabrics absorb sound and add warmth. The windows look fine. Add an area rug large enough to to cover the floor with the chairs pulled out. 8x 10' is my guess. **Q: Need help with flooring color & overhead light.** *(in Design Dilemma)* Should the floor contrast with the cabinet & beam color like the wide plant honey oak or be similar in color like the hickory, as in attached photos? We also need a light that will hang between the beams but not block the TV that will be over the console table. Advice please! A: A light floor that is similar in color to the counter would add some brightness to your space. I suggest using another recessed light over the counter area to give the illusion of a higher ceiling. . Anything dangling will block your TV view and make the ceiling height seem lower. **Q: What color and brand Window curtains is this?** *(in Photo Questions)* A: Thank you, I designed the drapery to make a symmetrical frame around the Grange etagere. The right drape that you see, pulls to the right corner , the left side is pulled left with a metal tie back. If we had used pairs of drapes on each window, it would have blocked all the light.
