> Maybe, at one point this builder was worth what it costs to buy one of their homes. Not anymore. Their customer service is abysmal. Their construction, about the same. They hire sub par "subs" and the work shows it. Poor yard grading, to shoddy electrical. For a home builder you would think math would be in their wheelhouse, but alas, it is not. They can't perform simple calculations to make the development work for the home owner without having to jump through so many extra hoops in a township to do anything without it having to cost thousands extra. Stay far away from them. Find a reputable builder, unfortunately, Stoltzfus is not it.

**★ — Kristy Bryan, Jan. 2024**

> We cannot recommend this builder. We were hopeful in the start as EG was highly praised but it appears their standards have fallen, especially in the Lititz communities.
>
> The sales and building process did not go smoothly. We had several issues with miscommunication regarding the basement finishing and fireplace. These issues were ultimately resolved but involved extra work on the part of our realtor. In one instance, we understood our fireplace to be framed and held outside of our home and be flush to the wall in the interior. It was initially built this way only to be torn off without so much as a phone call to clarify with us about what we had wanted. The only way we were able to come to a resolution was through a phone call with a VP in which we learned the correct term on the design contract would have been “dogbox” and despite it being shown on the Authorization that was signed and referred to in the agreement of sale as a binding part of the contract, held no legal bearing because of being labeled as “artistic purposes only.” There was no language in the contract indicating which document would take precedence if there was a conflict and that essentially anything on the authorization didn’t hold any bearing on the way the home was built despite the subcontractors also building the home according to our understanding of the “dogbox” initially. After an extensive conversation with the VP we were told it would be corrected as a “gesture of goodwill.”
>
> We have since had several issues with our home that have been more than what would be expected with a new home. It was discovered when a crack was being repaired on our rear patio that a supportive beam that helped to support our master bedroom up above, was balanced on a crack and hollow block. We needed to consult and pay for the services of a structural engineer to make recommendations for the repair as we did not feel comfortable having it repaired without doing so considering the state of the work that was initially performed.
>
> We also had water infiltration in our unfinished portion of the basement that took months of a subcontractor coming and going to repair. It eventually took excavating our newly landscaped yard to discover our superior wall had been cracked. Only when it was repaired from the exterior and interior did the water finally stop. Initially, once the excavation was performed, our popup drain was buried and not able to connect to the gutter spout. Our neighbor’s yard was torn up by the tires of the vehicles, and the dirt that was returned was insufficient to return the grading to the initial state.
>
> Additionally, we had water damage in our finished basement that was discovered less than 3 months after the end of our warranty period. The restoration company discovered water damage due to the basement not being properly waterproofed that has being going on for an extended period of time that has only now begun to show in our finished area.

> Do NOT use this builder. Windows have condensation. Doors and windows are crooked. Worms inside. Snow not removed on driveway/sidewalk. Contacted company multiple times. Denied responsibility. Excuses.

> My basement was remodeled and a fantastic job was completed based on a large part of the expertise of EG Stoltzfus. Recommendations and options I had not considered greatly enhanced the final project and I highly recommend EGStoltzfus not only because they are an excellent contractor but they really do a great job of listening to your request and making your project exceed your expectations.

> EG excels at every single aspect of the home building process. Attention to detail, quality of construction, thoroughness in researching alternatives in design and products, knowledge and professionalism in guiding us through the entire process ... all second to none. What a pleasure it was to work with everyone at EG ... a truly exceptional team!

> We worked with EG on a major home remodel which included kitchen, bathroom, relocating a powder room, adding support beams, removing walls and changing a formal living room into a laundry/mudroom. We started working on a proposal/design with Andy Lebo in the Fall and the project was ready to get started by January. We met with three local home builders (Metzler, Garman and EG) for the project and while the prices were all around the same, EG made us feel the most comfortable. Andy is very detailed and wanted to understand what we want while also guiding and directing us into a plan that would work best for our home and lifestyle. Everything was laid out for us in an easy to follow schedule after the design was decided. I met with flooring, kitchen, lighting and bathroom fixture vendors and chose what I wanted with 2-3 weeks after design. Andy sent our specs to the vendors and they were able to guide me to what we needed and from there, I could pick and choose based on personal preferences (tile, countertops, cabinet colors, floors). The project then began end of January and everything was scheduled so that they would be finished end of March and they were finished right on time. We received a detailed scheduled at the beginning listing what was going on every day through the renovation. The most impressive thing was that the schedule never changed. Everything was on time. We moved out of the house so that we could avoid the frustration of living through a renovation. We love our "new" home. It is functional and beautiful. I love cooking in my new kitchen. I love the mudroom with the cubbies. We now have a place for everything and it feels so much more organized. I recommend EG highly!

> We had an excellent experience with all the crew and staff of EGStoltzfus. Work was done well and on time. Everyone that was in our home and worked directly with us were professional and trust worthy. All of the contractors were polite and clean, and respected the home while they worked. Any issues that we had, were immediately addressed to our satisfaction.

After meeting with the EGStoltzfus team, the wheels were put into motion (pun intended) and a unique garage expansion plan was born. They also liked the fact that their home afforded them lots of sunshine even though they had tall trees and mature landscaping. What they didn’t like was their floor plan.
