### Reviews

**★★★★★ — Tamara Adams, July 2026**

> We recently finished a major remodel, and we could not be happier with Thea and Anne from Domistyle Design. They did an incredible job transforming our kitchen into a beautiful, functional space. Their eye for detail is unmatched - they picked the perfect furniture pieces and paint colors that pulled everything together. Our home now feels incredibly warm, welcoming and exactly like “us”. They were a pleasure to work with and we highly recommend Domistyle Design.
> Marty and Tami Jelinski

**Comment from Domistyle Design:**

> Tami and Marty, Thank you so much for these generous words. Working with you was truly one of the highlights of our careers. We loved transforming your home into a place that feels warm, welcoming, and distinctly yours—and we couldn’t be prouder of the result.

**★★★★★ — Alan Doud, Aug. 2021**

> Thea and Anne took our rough ideas and turned them into a finished design. They really listened to us and helped us get what we wanted but also coached us and helped us understand what our house could really be by following their guidance. Our whole house remodel turned out to be much more functional and beautiful than what we had originally expected. In addition to offering excellent design advice, they connected us with first-rate but reasonably priced sub-contractors from electricians to cabinet makers. The money we spent for Anne and Thea's advice and design work was a really good investment in our home.

> We had lots of ideas about how we wanted to remodel our house that we had lived in for 26 years. The thing that I really appreciated about the crew at Domistyle is that they took our good ideas and made them better and they took some of our crazy ideas, kept the core of what we were trying to do and gave us a finished product that we love.

**Comment from Domistyle Design:**

> Thank you, Alan. You truly got a new home without ever having to move. I hope you enjoy it for many, many years.

**★★★★★ — David Pillinger, Aug. 2019**

> Thea and Jan are great to work with, they made the designing of my historic South Hill home's bathroom a joy to perceive and I'm delighted with the results. They were very supportive and imaginative throughout the process.

**★★★★★ — One Call Construction, Feb. 2018**

> We have worked with Domistyle Design on many projects, large and small. Their attention to detail is fantastic and they provide excellent detail, so the picture of the finished product is very clear. It's also very reassuring to know that if you have any questions during the project they are quick to respond and not leave you waiting. It has been a pleasure working with their team every time and look forward to their projects.

**★★★★★ — Clark Goff, Feb. 2018**

> We have worked with Domistyle Design on many projects from large to small, and no matter the size, their attention to detail never wavered. Perfection is always their goal. They always are quick to answer any questions and provide very detailed direction so there is a clear picture of the final product. It has always been a pleasure working with their team.

**Comment from Domistyle Design:**

> Thanks so much! We make a good team --- look forward to more jobs in the future.

**★★★★★ — Christine Larsen, Feb. 2018**

> We are new to Bellingham and had never used a designer in previous remodels. But because of the scope of this project we hired Domistyle. Thea took the lead on our remodel which included a new kitchen/family room, and work in the master bathroom, laundry room, along with new wood trim, floors and paint colors throughout the house. Thea was easy to work with; she brought an upbeat attitude and energy to the project and recommended an outstanding contractor. In the parts of the project where we had a strong vision of what we wanted, Thea both listened to our ideas and guided us with her expertise. She had a great idea on how to enlarge our master shower without having to move the water wall and she brought ideas to the kitchen that really added to its function. The kitchen/family room is gorgeous and we couldn’t be happier with how our home turned out! Friends and family love to gather here and they comment on both the aesthetic and livability of our "new" home.

**Comment from Domistyle Design:**

> Thank you for your kind words! You were a joy to work with, and I'm so happy your "house" truly became your "home."

**★★★★★ — Deborah Benz, Feb. 2017**

> This is definitely a 5 star pair who have guided me through 20 years of beautiful renovations. They strive to help their clients achieve their design and decorating dreams within their budgets with innovative and outstanding results. You won't be disappointed! Highly recommended without reservation!

**Comment from Domistyle Design:**

> Thank you, Deborah! We certainly appreciate that you took the time to review us. It's always a pleasure to work with you.

> The Domistyle Ladies are steeped in the knowledge of structural plans, contractors, suppliers, fixtures, materials, appliance resources, finishing style and most other subjects one needs to build or remodel a kitchen. We were constantly encouraged with their ideas for layout and design, access to resources and responding with changes that made large improvements to the project. Their work pattern was fitted into the client's schedules, personal plans, design ideas, kitchen work preferences, and funding. They were extremely responsive to our perspective of where the kitchen connected into our lifestyle resulting in room design modifications and appliance revisions. We could not be more delighted with the results. The most important accomplishment is the kitchen activities are now a new and positive source of pleasure and benefit to ourselves, family and friends.

**★★★★★ — mwicholas, Dec. 2015**

> Their work was brilliant! Thea and Jan designed a major remodel of my kitchen in which the spatial configuration was changed significantly to better utilize the available space. I followed their recommendations for flooring, countertop, sink, cabinets, etc and am extremely happy with my choice of Domicile as design consultants.

**Comment from Domistyle Design:**

> Thank you for your enthusiastic comments! It's so rewarding to help in the transformation of a space, and we're glad you're enjoying your kitchen.

**★★★★★ — A-1 Builders and Adaptations Design Studio, Dec. 2015**

> We've worked with Domistyle on a number of occasions, most notably on a major kitchen remodel which Thea designed and we built. Our experience extends well beyond these projects though. Both Thea and Jan worked as designers here for many years, and Jan was our design division manager for over a decade. It was a sad day when they decided to go out on their own and start up Domistyle. They are excellent at their craft!

Their passion for design shows in their solid commitment to bringing the visions and personalities of their clients to life in a livable and functional space. From designing custom kitchens, to teaching design classes, these two ladies have a wealth of knowledge, creativity and years of experience to offer.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Brand and Size of Tile used** *(in Photo Questions)*

Could you share the brand name and tile size used in this project? It’s beautiful and a much more affordable option than slabs. I love the use of smaller shelves/mantles to break up the look! Well done

A: Here's a link to the tile: https://surfaceartinc.com/tile/collections/venetian-signature/itemlist/category/167-amalfi-vein-cut.html
It's a 24" x 48" porcelain tile. Hope that helps.

**Q: is there a cover for the trash can?** *(in Photo Questions)*

looks like the trashcan stays exposed because the towel area is open? doesn't that let smell out?

A: In another photo of this kitchen you can see a piece below the paper towel holder. Looks like a great idea!

**Q: Tile corner finish technique** *(in Photo Questions)*

Can you explain how the tile corners were finished? Is it a mitered edge between the fireplace facade and the wall or do the pieces just abut together and show one unfinished edge? Thank you!

A: We used Schluter to butt the tiles together on this fireplace.

**Q: Beautiful kitchen! Can you tell me who made the cabinets?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: These cabinets were made by a gentleman who has since moved back home to Australia. His former employee opened up his own company, Northwest Woodslayer, and does beautiful work.

**Q: Can you tell me the brand, model, and color of the hardwood flooring?** *(in Photo Questions)*

We really like the look of the flooring in this photograph. Would appreciate any additional information you can share and/or pictures as well. Thank you!

A: Yes. It's one we've used a number of times because it has a lovely matte finish --- not shiny at all. It's very easy to repair with sandpaper and some of the wax - oil finish provided by the manufacturer. DuChateau, Vernal collection, color: Lugano
http://duchateau.com/departments/flooring/vernal-lugano/

**Q: What is the name of the beautiful fireplace facade?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Rebecca, I apologize for taking nearly a year to reply to you! It was a 24" x 48" porcelain tile by Surface Art called Venetian Signature, Amalfi Vein Cut Argento. The shelves and hearth are Pental Quartz, Mesa Polished.
