> This project was a multifaceted remodeling:
> 1\. Completing 1200 sq. ft. of our basement that added a bedroom, game room, great room, and kitchenette. It included built-in bookshelves and built-in area for a large screen TV; the kitchen area cabinets were custom built; and storage areas.
> 2\. A kitchen expansion. Installation of kitchen cabinets, granite countertop, backsplash; under-cabinet lighting and installing appliances.
> 3\. Expanding laundry room and adding built-in cabinet and shelving, and tile flooring.
> 4\. Adding floor to ceiling shelving, and tile flooring in a walk-in pantry.

> I would highly recommend Kevin Dalton and his team.  Kevin came out and took his time to listen to our ideas about remodeling our Master Bathroom.  He provided some feedback and talked to us about some of the features we wanted to incorporate in the job and then match a solution to fit our budget.  Kevin's team was prompt and though the job took a couple days they cleaned up the area after each day and completed the job on schedule.  Kevin does a great job communicating about the timelines, cost and exceeded our expectation.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Where could I purchase the sink vessels and mirrors?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: I bought the sink vessels on Amazon. They were oval hammered copper. I believe we got the mirrors from Bed Bath and Beyond.  Neither of which were very expensive. Vessels were under $200/each if I remember correctly.

**Q: New sidewalk and front yard landscape** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I'm wanting to update my north facing front yard which is 35' w by 23' deep.  I'm doing away with the shrub and lattice on the front, so I have a clean slate.  I'd like it to have clean lines.  My thoughts so far have been to use Karl Forester grass on the right side inside a stone drainage (which is really never very wet) and hydrangeas under the livingroom window.  I'm wondering if I should consider raised beds. I'd also like to accommodate a small area to be inviting to sit, like when a neighbour stops to talk, but you don't want to go to the back yard.  Also any ideas how to improve the door and steps.

A: Can't comment professionally on the landscaping, but the door and steps are an area that I can help. At first glance I would remove the steps and decorative surround against the door. Once steps are removed you can add a larger front porch and build a roof over the porch with columns, depending on the size of the porch that could be the inviting space for a neighbor to set and talk without going to the back yard.

**Q: Fireplace remodel.** *(in Design Dilemma)*

My fireplace is currently all stained in a honey oak finish.  I want to remodel and need help.  I want to modernize it.  I am contemplating tile for the base and around the fire box, then painting the rest.  please swarm with ideas

A: Yes, I would agree with removing the base. Since it is not wood burning it will free up some needed room. Just facing the fireplace with granite or tile and surrounding it with a decorative mantel is a traditional approach. Could also consider surround with stone... Possibilities are endless.
