They enclosed my carport into a beautiful salon. Their subs showed up on time and worked hard everyday and were super polite. They were only $100 off the bid price which is pretty insane. All the work turned out extremely well. FM Studio has a strong team of subcontractors that show up when planned/expected and work efficiently. Most activities were completed the day they started or within a couple of days without long gaps between work. Francisco was good about communicating next steps and what to expect as we moved through the work. As an architect, one of the things I appreciated most about FM studio is that both Francisco and Miriam are also trained as architects--they know how to read and interpret drawings and don't improvise the way many residential contractors might. We came to them with a style of home that we liked, and a list of priorities for our family, and they designed a home that spoke to our style preferences while somehow being much more unique and well suited to our family than we could have envisioned. We built in ‘21-‘22 so we experienced some stressful cost hikes and supply chain issues. And yet, we couldn’t be more thrilled with the final result and still feel that we got the most for our money. The craftsmen and women that worked on our house were all top notch. All of the materials are very high quality. The way they were able to imagine the space is something we would not have found with another design/ build. F.M. Studio does not build trendy cookie cutter homes. Studio turned our 1250sf 1920s bungalow into a 3500sf modern bungalow, complete with an in-law suite and a music studio; and, while we are biased, the house is a design/ build masterpiece. The project began in March of 2020 -- just as Covid was starting. Unfortunately, Covid brought immense challenges to the project, including, but not limited to, skyrocketing material costs and considerable supply chain issues. Francisco and Miriam navigated these issues with patience, thoughtfulness, and expert guidance. They provided alternatives to out of stock items, helped us figure out ways to cut project costs without sacrificing our vision, and were consistently available. During the project, Francisco was ever-present at our house to ensure the project was moving along as planned. We knew that we were not the only project that F.M. was working on at the time, but it always felt like we were. F.M. Studios typify design/build professionalism.
