### Reviews

**★★★★★ — Dan, June 2026**

> When my wife and I were ready to undertake the gut renovation of our condominium, we sought out a design/build firm that could combine creativity and attention to detail in design with discipline and craftsmanship in execution. Mammoth delivered for us and exceeded our expectations across the board. In the design phase, they presented us with ideas that expanded the possibilities for our home while taking our tastes and desires into account. The final design they produced respected the character of our pre-war building while refreshing every square inch of the apartment. During construction, they provided detailed schedule and budget updates during our weekly meetings and periodic walk-throughs. We knew where we stood every step of the way, and they delivered as promised. We could not be happier with our beautiful, meticulously renovated home; it makes us smile every time we walk through the front door. If we were to undertake another apartment renovation, we would sign up Mammoth again without a moment's hesitation, knowing they'll bring the imagination, expertise, and energy they delivered for us last time.

**★★★★★ — Matt Caverly, Oct. 2023**

> We had a great experience with Mammoth and would highly recommend them.
>
> We used Mammoth for design & construction for a full renovation of a 2-bed 2-bath post-war Manhattan apartment. We didn’t go down to studs, but we did basically everything else: both bathrooms, kitchen, closets, lighting, floors, and wall finishes. This was our first home purchase and our first time doing a renovation project of any type.
>
> Maryana was thoughtful about incorporating our unclear and conflicting design thoughts into a coherent vision. The design was done within the timeline that she provided. We were happy with the plan, and the end result came out even better than we hoped.
>
> Construction was finished and our move-in date was ON TIME: 14 weeks for a full gut reno! We were very pleased with that. There were a few odds and ends to clean up after we moved in, but nothing that made it difficult to get settled. During the construction process, Jess made a great impression on our super and neighbors. She and Maryana communicated clearly and frequently about possible issues throughout the process.
>
> The overall cost came in higher than we initially budgeted, but communication on that front was very clear as well. Individual aspects of the project generally all hit Jess’s detailed line-item quotes; we just kept expanding the scope to upgrade finishes. We feel like we got what we paid for in quality and attention to detail of the final outcome.

> Hi, worked with Jessica on a couple of projects and each time she was responsive, professional, and most importantly on time. Highly recommend her company Mammoth.

**★★★★★ — Patrick, April 2023**

> In 2022, I had Mammoth generate ideas and a quote for renovating my kitchen in Manhattan. They were excellent, especially Jessica, who visited the apt, took measurements, and gave me written quotes and ideas. Unfortunately, I had a job change and didn't end up staying in the apt to complete the renovation, but they were great in the early stages and I'm sure they would have done excellent work if I had stayed.

**★★★★★ — William Bolls, April 2023**

> Jessica and the team at Mammoth are professional, knowledgeable and no-drama. They listen to their clients' needs and I highly recommend the team.

**★★★★★ — Mychal Campos, April 2023**

> I was probably on the lower end of Maryana's clients in terms of available budget for the redesign and renovation of my apartment interior, but she was very creative and gave my living space exactly the feel that I was looking for. I wanted things to feel far less cluttered and I needed space to both work from home and for my music (playing and production). The overall design has a brightness and lightness to it that gives the space a very relaxing and spacious feel (even if my apartment is a little less than 600 square feet). I loved the creative use of plexiglass for all of my table top surfaces. Shout out to the carpenters (B'capri interiors) that she chose too that made my new space a reality. Through the redesign of my space, Maryana also showed me how to arrange and organize all of my things so as not to create clutter. She’s pretty amazing on all of these fronts.
>
> All in all. I definitely recommend working with Maryana and Mammoth projects. To be able to work with Maryana effectively, your budget is going to have to hit some minimum threshold. She’ll be honest with you from the start about this. But given that you can hit this threshold, she can absolutely work with your budget to come up with some amazingly creative solutions accordingly. I am very happy with how my space turned out overall. The space ended up looking so good that Maryana wanted to submit the work to a design publication and we did a full day photoshoot of the space accordingly.

> Jessica at Mammoth has been wonderful to work with. She brought professionalism and creativity to my project, and understood and respected the importance of my budget and timelines in completing the project. Jessica consistently communicated to keep my updated on progress and was transparent about costs (up or down), delays or any other updates. I took on my project during a very busy time at work and Jessica proved to be a trusted partner to get the job done. I’m already working on my second project with her, and would recommend her and Mammoth to all my friends, family and colleagues.

**★★★★★ — Cole Dennis, Aug. 2022**

> Maryana was an absolute breeze to work with, and is so so talented. She navigated all the hurdles with grace, quickly offering up alternatives when supply chain issues kept us from getting first picks of furniture and arranging for special accommodations when some of the things ordered were too small for our building's minuscule freight elevator. And of course that's all in addition to being an excellent designer!
>
> Not for nothing she also got along famously with our dog who is an absolute terror whenever a stranger is in the apartment. Maryana could have a second career as a pet therapist if she wanted to.

**★★★★★ — Rafael Waack, Feb. 2022**

> I had the pleasure to work with Mammoth Projects on an apartment renovation for my new Harlem three-bedroom. We redid every room, which included a full gut of the kitchen and bathrooms, custom millwork for the bedrooms and living rooms, new flooring and wallpapering all over. My wife and I were afraid the process would completely consume our lives, but we had the opposite experience. Maryana and her team supervised every step of the construction from start to finish, and we were able to quickly get back to our own work and trust Mammoth completely with our new home. Maryana clearly put a lot of heart into the design, and we are proud to have a home with all kinds of original furniture, lighting, and cabinets that went so much beyond what we had planned, without going over budget. I fully recommend Maryana and Mammoth, as I had a great experience with their service and design.

**★★★★★ — Jason B, Sept. 2021**

> I worked with Maryana first back in 2016 when my rapidly scaling tech startup outgrew our original tiny space and needed to establish a proper New York City office. What was amazing for us was she helped us think about aesthetics AND functionality, neither of which we were particularly good at. For the look - she partnered directly with our senior leadership team to ensure the space aligned with our culture, values, and brand. And for the utility - she was familiar with the ways modern companies need to work - conference room technology and soundproofing, snack stations (our staff's favorite part), comfortable desks, shared collaborative areas, and more. She liaised with our notoriously difficult building management, filed appropriate permits, met extremely tight deadlines, etc. Most useful to me was her inventiveness and adaptability - thinking outside the box was crucial when our business's needs were a moving target. The office opened on time and to the rave reviews of our employees. A year or so later - we had grown so fast we needed to open another entire floor of the office building - and I knew exactly who to call to make sure our second expansion went as well as our first. In addition to delivering high quality, affordable, industry-leading work - Maryana was quite enjoyable to work with and made the difficult moments fun. I would definitely recommend her and Mammoth Projects for your next job.

> Maryana was a pleasure to work with in redesigning our bedroom and sitting area. She was very professional and worked within our budget to offer a variety of options. We love how it turned out and that she was able to source unique pieces that you don't see in everyone else's home / catalogues. We hope we can use her in the future for another project!

**★★★★★ — dana sasouness, Aug. 2021**

> Maryana was a pleasure to work with. She really listened to our style and design goals and then translated that into beautiful professional interiors.

**Comment from Mammoth Projects:**

> Thanks so much Dana for your kind words. Was a pleasure working with you!

We focused on creating streamlined architectural elements to draw attention to the impressive scale of the studio. We inserted a floating kitchen island which acts as a focal point of the space. We created a backdrop that is both versatile and detailed. In a nod to the space's manufacturing roots, we covered the main wall in grey plaster. A detail that provided both de…

## Community Q&A

**Q: Floor Stain** *(in Photo Questions)*

Hello,
Can you please let me know which wood stain was used for this floor?
Thank you
Margaret

A: There wasn't. It's a floor from LV Wood. Sorry.

**Q: Paint kitchen cabinets that are only 3.5 years old?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I am very tired of my dark kitchen already. I have dark wood floors, dark cabinets, no window since it is a townhouse, and medium colored counters. I want to have the cabinets painted white by a professional. Is this a good idea? I don't want to hurt my property value but want something brighter and more interesting!
Thank you,
Valerie

A: The lighting is fine if it's LED. Not sure why everyone is hung up on this.

No, don't paint these. WIll be a disaster. But you can swap out cabinet faces pretty inexpensively. I had a carpenter swap out these and a counter for like 4K. A lot less than doing a kitchen.

**Q: Entryway ideas** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Closing on our new home in a few days. These pictures are with the previous owners items, it's now going to be completely empty. Any ideas? functionally I do need a simple seating area but not a storage area in the entryway because there is a large closet there
for shoes, etc. Thanks in advance.

A: I would do a table in the center of the foyer and a chez or bench on the left as you walk in.

**Q: Alternative ideas for modern staircase** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Any ideas on how to get an open look without the hefty price? All quotes to build this type of stairs are triple what is in the budget. Help!

A: Yes, wood frame. And because the treads are really fat on this, wood would be an option for those as well.

**Q: do have a color used for cabinets? thanks!** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: hey, what are these made of? mdf?
