I went to all the major furniture stores in St. Louis (Shubert Design, Mueller Furniture, Carroll House) and ultimately was about to pull the trigger on a all wood bed frame to match my existing circa 1982 Shaker Ethan Allen bedroom furniture. However, decided to drive out to Ethan Allen to exhaust all options. When I arrived, I was greeted by Lynzi Wise who was incredibly welcoming. She listened to ideas and dilemmas and took ahold of my lack of confidence with knowledge and grace. We toured the show room and came up with some options and a few days later she drove to my house with a book of swatches and wood samples - all at no cost. She is incredibly good at her job as she instantly realized that the best look for my new room would be a bed frame that complimented my existing furniture rather than forcing a match. Lynzi was also the only salesperson out of all the furniture stores to take an interest. I offered my thoughts, and she offered perfect advice of why and what would be the best fit. Other sales personnel, listen to you and simply follow your lead/ ideas and preferences which may not be the right decisions - at least it was for me. I felt like she understood my struggle and steered me to a path of a room that will look lovely for many many years. Highly recommend Lynzi who is so thoughtful, cheerful, and incredibly design savvy. She made this stressful "large purchase" completely easy and reassuring. The accent wall is sherwin Williams tin Lizzie and the rest is sw Argos. I'm currently keeping the black nightstands and dresser and the headboard which is a creamy color. I like greys and blues and am trying to Get away from green which I've had far too much of. I've bought many pieces of bedding just to return them. Advice! A: Mix a tone on tone or solid set of Euros with a whimsical pattern with blues and creams to keep it light in the room and add accent pillows with some texture for some added interest! Take a look at some of Ethan Allen's Quick Ship Upholstery options, they are pretty neutral and offer great texture to play with. My home design center in Illinois has a couple of the middle pillows on our showroom floor, but we do not have the others.
