> From start to finish, Archadeck is THE most professional group we have ever dealt with.  Harold met with us in our home to start.  He prepared proposals for our review, then we met him at his place of business to make decisions.  His patience with us was greatly appreciated.  Decisions made, we were told the construction would begin in about 6 weeks - and it did.  The crew was phenomenal, very efficient and extremely "tidy".   Upon completion of their work, we could not find any evidence of them being there, except the patio was cleaner than when they arrived.  We could not be happier with our new deck and railings!!

> My wife and I couldn't be happier with the new deck we had Archadeck of Central Iowa build for us this spring. From the planning stage to completion, we got a lot of helpful input on ideas and recommendations. Harold even added an extra 2 feet to one side for no extra cost because he thought it balanced better with the style of our house. Also, it's built extra sturdy with 8"x 8" vertical posts, 2"x 10" joists and no less than 6 stair stringers supporting the stairs. Looking at how some other decks are built, it gives me piece of mind knowing it's going to last a long time. We opted for the upgraded composite decking and it really looks nice. The guys that built the deck were fun to work with and accommodated us when we had middle-of-the-job idea changes. We got a lot of enjoyment out of it this summer and fall.

> We continue to have horrible experience... Because our contract stated substantially done... Archadeck stated, " as long as we can walk on it means it is substantially done... Which means you have to pay in full". So we paid him in full accept $600 knowing he still needed to finish safety gate, railing and several other things. It has been three years and the job is not completed.  still have building permit up... And it expired two years ago. We Leave messages and e-mails and no one returns our phone call or e-mails. Year three still job not completed or to our satisfaction! Do not recommend this company at all!Update:November 2014 still have not completed gate and rail, and misc. other things. Now because they put the rail on left side against what we wanted and requested. Of course we want railing on right side isn't that the norm?  Well, we received an e-mail letting us know it would cost us $1,000 extra dollars besides the 600 to move railing to the ride side. This time we dealt with both Brothers and neither of them finished the job. We were told we would get a 10% discount if we would change our review after completing the job. It's so disappointing and frustrating. You put your trust and faith in this company and they destroy that trust and faith. What is happening to contractor these days?

> Archadeck of Central Iowa prides itself on attaining satisfied client relationships with each of our projects.  We take seriously – as we have with this client – any concerns or conflicts that may arise on our projects and are committed to resolving any situation to our client’s satisfaction.

> A September 21st e-mail to our client laid out a clear response to the outstanding issues with their project and our suggestions and offers to resolve, including no-cost options.  That e-mail also laid out a proposal to implement a new feature, which our client also requested for the patio area under their deck when we met on-site to assess their outstanding issues.
>
> There are various misrepresentations of that proposal – and what led to it – in our client’s review and subsequent update but the accusation of bribery is disconcerting.  The discount was clearly offered for and on the new feature scope of the proposal only. There were no "ifs" or conditions to that offer.  Once an agreement on resolution actions is reached and we’ve resolved those issues satisfactorily, as is our goal, I believe it would be appropriate to ask for the review be updated to reflect our ultimate disposition with the project.
>
> Our proposal for resolving our client's issues has been on the table since that September 21st e-mail and is awaiting our client’s decisions.  I have reached out to our client several times since the September 21st e-mail, requesting a return call to set up a subsequent decision-making/confirming meeting.  No returned calls have been received and the review above is our client’s only response to-date from my follow-up efforts.  Efforts on this are ongoing and I look forward to resolving these issues for our client.

> Update EOY 2014:  We reached agreement with our client on a resolution action plan last month.  We took advantage of the mild weather before Christmas to complete all but one of the issues and have passed final inspection from the City of Des Moines.  The gate is the remaining open item; its been ordered, is expected to be available by early February and we'll install it at our earliest opportunity once its available.

**Q: Dimensions** *(in Photo Questions)*

What are the dimensions of the two deck areas?

A: Both the upper and lower decks are approx 16' deep (out from the house). The upper deck - which was an existing structure prior to our involvement - is approx 15' wide. The lower deck - which we added and structured for the hot tub - is approx 18' in width. We decked the new, lower deck with the same composite decking as on the original deck, but the trim, stairs, skirting, railing and pergola were all new.

**Q: who is manufacturer of deck material and what is the color?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Rose - Thank you for your interest in Archadeck of Central Iowa and in this deck project we did in West Des Moines a few years ago.  The decking material we used on this project was TimberTech's Earthwood Evolutions product and it is the Pacific Walnut color....one of their "tropical" styled capped-composite boards.
