**★★★★★ — Sherwin & Tasha Wynter, April 2025**

> When we set out to design my new home, I knew I needed someone with not just technical skill, but vision—someone who could see beyond the lines and blueprints and truly bring a dream to life. Hiring Geraghty and Associates was, without question, the best decision I made during this entire process.
>
> From our very first conversation, Joseph Geraghty impressed me with his creativity, insight, and unparalleled design sensibility. His ability to understand my needs and translate them into a design that exceeded anything I imagined was nothing short of remarkable. Joseph is not just a designer—he is an artist, a visionary, and a master of his craft.
>
> In a field crowded with talent, Joseph stands alone. His attention to detail, innovative approach, and intuitive sense of space and aesthetics set him apart in every possible way. Joseph brought the kind of passion, originality, and dedication that we needed for our dream project.
>
> If you’re considering designing a home or renovating a space and want someone who will treat your vision with the same care and creativity as if it were his own, don’t hesitate to call Joseph Geraghty. He is the singular standard by which all other designers should be measured.

> I approached a faculty member of an interior design school here in Toronto to provide a recommendation for doing a major renovation of my townhouse in downtown Toronto and she suggested David Geraghty. David did a simply spectacular job. When I compare the work he did on my residence compared to others who have done similar renovations, his was simply in another league with respect to sophistication of design, efficient use of space, taking the time to find out my style preferences and lifestyle, and then incorporating this into a creative architectural design. Throughout the years since it was completed guests repeatedly commented on both beauty, warmth and the functional utility of his design. I could not recommend him more highly.

**★★★★★ — Patricia Ong, Feb. 2020**

> Joseph was highly recommended to us by a friend. He worked with us as an architect and designer. He demonstrated professionalism, dedication and integrity and brought creativity yet functional ideas to our home renovation. His patience is commendable!
>
> We enjoyed working with Joseph and strongly recommend him to handle your interior design projects. He will not disappoint! We have had many compliments on our home and look forward to another opportunity to work with him again in the future.

**★★★★★ — Michael Streng, April 2017**

> Joseph was absolutely fantastic. His vision is unparalled. The moment he walked into our home you could see that he was envisioning the finished product.
> The final result was spectacular as you can see in the photos. The space was transformed completely. Open, airy, clean, modern and contemporary are just a few words to describe the end result.
> Joseph is absolutely dialed in to what home buyers are looking for as well as what works best for the space provided.
> We would not hesitate to recommend Joseph to any of our friends and family!

**★★★★★ — Joseph Kerr, Jan. 2017**

> Gergarghty and Associates was recommended to me by a mutual colleague. During the project they went above and beyond exceeded all expectations I had in place. I worked directly with Joseph to design and create a set of permit drawings(structural, electrical, lighting & HVAC) for a multi-tenant dwelling; during which he was super responsive, very professional, knowledgeable and executed with quality time and time again. It was a pleasure working with him and I'm looking forward to the next opportunity I'll have to work with them again. Highly recommended!!

> This is the second project that Geraghty and Associates have helped us (AMG Custom Homes) with. Joseph Geraghty is a true professional with a vision to see the completed project like no other starting with the drawings to selecting the materials and finishes to set your project apart from everyone else's.

## Community Q&A

**Q: What are my options with a teeny tiny bathroom?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

My big projects that we hired a contractor for last year have finally gotten completed so I'm in the starting stages of the next project. YAY!
Our "master" bathroom is super tiny, and while we aren't able to do anything about the size, we are wanting to renovate to get rid of the dated look.
Our current vanity is 18" deep with a counter top that is 19" deep and intersects the door casing. I know I could find a place to build a custom vanity or buy one that's 17" but I would like to know if I have any other options? I know the work of cutting into the casing is not good quality work but is this something that would be an acceptable look IF it had been done clean and neat?

A: The shower door option should have a double hinge application to swing in when entering and out when exiting... this will allow for an opening about 4" wider than doing a sliding door, making it more ergonomically appropriate while easily pushed in out of the way... The shaped vanity would ideally be custom for this space, with the storage one each side recessed in about 3"- allowing for an adequately large lavatory bowl in the centre. I sometimes use an offset single level faucet to one side of the bowl because of the shallow depth of the vanity, but it would be preferable to use a wall mounted faucet to save additional space and make cleaning surfaces much easier.

**Q: can you please tell me the name of the wall colors?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Beautiful, bright and airy.

A: Hi Vivian,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. The colour used here was Benjamin Moore White Chocolate- in a Satin Alkyd - spray application.

**Q: Nickel or brass fixtures?** *(in Home Decorating)*

Hi! I can’t seem to get this room right. I’m redoing the fireplace with brick That I will paint white. Also going to switch out light fixtures but can’t decide nickel or brass. The curtain rods and door handles are nickel. If I go brass do I need to switch out the rods? The room feels too orange to me. whats the problem here? The fireplace

change should help. Is it the chairs?

A: May be easier to compare here...

**Q: How to Start Building project** *(in Building a Home)*

Planning to start building and still figuring out where to get a real nice plan. Can anyone assist?

A: Wishing you every success in this venture... But before you start please ensure the designer or Architect is fully versed with Local Zoning By-Laws and restrictions that apply to your site. Remember that home you build should accommodate your lifestyle and ease of functional use, as well as your personality.
Also consider environmental impact as well as energy efficiency in using geo-thermal or Photovoltaic supplemental power supplies. A good architect or designer will be able to help you navigate these concerns and point you in the right direction ... Looking forward to seeing the finished product!

**Q: Large Kitchen: 1 or 2 islands?** *(in Building a Home)*

My husband and I are building a new home and are really having a hard time deciding if we should have 1 or 2 islands in our kitchen. We have four kids so we would definitely like seating for 4-6 around the island. We are planning for the islands to be counter height. Can anyone give advice on which of these designs would be best? We can change the dimensions on any of the islands. The kitchen is 21' wide x 16.5' deep (but we can go deeper than that with bar stools as it buts up to a very wide hallway) I appreciate any advice you have! Thanks!

A: Taking a closer look at your plans I would agree with one larger Island with lots of seating- Two main Reasons-
1\. Your proposed second island is protruding into the fluid circulation pathway leading throughout the main floor- this will lead to a visual obstruction to the flow of your home as wells create a more undefined space.
2\. The distance proposed between the stove and the island is 5' - I would recommend reducing this to at least 4' (as a min. in NKBA guidelines) to avoid unnecessary travel with pots and prepared food to and from the sink- ( I often allow as little as 3'-6" to make the as little as 3'-6" to enhance ergonomic function and reduce unnecessary travel)
Keep in mind your Lighting needs in this area as well as you want to avoid too many suspended pendant fixtures- ensure that you have adequate recessed down-lights illuminating all surfaces as well as some directed on the face of the cabinetry- This will create a bright open spacious feeling throughout ...

**Q: Where are these sofas from?!** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Hi Jane, sorry for the delay in getting back to you - I thought my answer went through already- I believe the sofas are the Fendi White Leather studded sofas (supplied by client)
