Sharon Barrett Interiors has grown under the realization that despite being in one of the fastest growing areas in the nation, Middle Tennessee lacked a full service interior design firm with a fresh attitude and relaxed style that specialized in the many waterfront and rural properties in the area.  Her experience makes her an expert in both the lifestyle that comes with these type homes and in the construction process, and an ideal partner when working with clients on a ground up construction. From conceptual phase to completion,  she can work in tandem with architects, contractors and craftsmen seamlessly.  The goal in new construction is to have a new home that feels like an established home with history that has been brought up to date rather than newly built.  Once all the “bones” are in place during the planning phase, we make that new house a home.
Our firm often works in the laid back style of the South and strives to provide a timeless foundation for clients as we discover and cultivate their own style. Sharon’s aesthetic can be summed up as: high end casual and highly functional. She finds influences in New Country, New England, Farmhouse, Coastal/Lakefront, Eclectic and Industrial and Modern Bohemian styles as well as drawing inspiration from the outdoors that she loves so much. This diversity lends a result that is unique and completely yours when the project is complete. Sharon’s designs tend to seamlessly transition from the inside out as many of the properties she designs are highly focused on outdoor living.
Sharon’s designs reflect the passions and history of the homeowners; have timeless appeal and style that endures; designs that honor her clients past while allowing them to develop their own style as their circumstances and tastes evolve in the future. Sharon takes the time to get to know her clients…from how they grew up to challenges that are going on in the present to their loves and passions and uses this insight to design a truly unique, tailored and personal home, mixing in antiques with new furniture for a space that feels collected over time. The project started when I secured several oil paintings that my mother, who recently passed away, created over her lifetime. During the process, she provided us with a complete plan that included paint color, a built-in designed for the eat-in-kitchen area, furniture and layout suggestions, color and accessory ideas.  She provided picture concepts and my husband and I did the shopping.   Sharon also provided us with contractor recommendations who turned out to be professional and reasonably priced.  We are thrilled with how everything turned out.   At the end of the project, Sharon came back to our home and helped us place the pictures which put the final touches on the changed spaces.  I was initially a little intimated by the thought of bringing a "designer" into our modest home.   Sharon was so easy to work with, quick to respond and openly listened to all of our needs.  I would do it all over again!

**Q: What color are the cabintes?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: They are a gray color that came prefinished from the RTA Store but Benjamin Moore Kendall Charcoal is a near perfect match.

**Q: Paint color in laundry?** *(in Photo Questions)*

What's the paint color of the wall in laundry and trim?

A: I got the seagrass pendant from Target. I think it has been discontinued but Home Decorators Collection Kisha pendant looks identical.

Any insight on where that table is from, and its dimensions?

A: We built the folding table.  It’s 2ft deep by 5 feet long.

A: Thank you!  This was a really old project but I believe it was 4 feet deep by 11 feet long and was painted in Farrow and Ball's Mizzle.  I hope this helps!

A: Thanks Betsy!  We used the least expensive white subway tile at lowes and oyster color grout.
