Since we were from California, we really didn't understand construction on the water in South Florida. John was very quantitative about analyzing (and explaining) things- together we evaluated solar panels (decided not to do them), but he helped analyze the best windows, docks, generators, pools, roof materials, paint, etc., and worked with us in a patient and always calm and knowledgeable manner. Bidding and billing was always transparent and we always felt we were a valued client. He has lived in Fort Lauderdale for his entire life so he knows all of the best subcontractors. The house has been featured in numerous national and local magazines and trade journals, and even found itself on the back cover of the Miami Heat 2016 calendar! It is a stunning masterpiece, and Gulf has always come out to do warranty work, even when we are way beyond the time left on the warranty. The quality is outstanding; John never cut a corner, always did the highest quality work. Permitting was seamless for the client. The house feels really quiet and solid, it is really holding up two years after the construction, which is saying something with the ravages of the climate and salt water in South Florida.
