> As the lease to my kitchen in my hotel was coming to an end, I decided that I would take over the lease and create my own restaurant.  I had never started my own restaurant before, so I knew that I would need the help of professionals in this endeavour.  One area in particular was the interior design.  So, on a recommendation of one of my friends, I gave Niki a call.   Right from the beginning she had some great ideas and was very accommodating.  She even came to my establishment that was about a 2 hour drive away to consult me.  After a brief session, we came up with the areas that she would be in charge of and she helped me from color scheme selection, seating, lighting and overall design.  She was very hands on and helped me select things in Edmonton as I was unable to living in a small town.  The overall design ended up being a great success.  We now have one of the best places to go to eat in town and customers are really impressed with the look of our restaurant.  Niki was very fair on the price for her work and consultation and I would highly recommend her in the future.

## Community Q&A

**Q: What quartz/Silestone would look good here?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I'm going to replace countertops and add back splashes. I was thinking of going with Silestone Lyra which has a marble look to it.(http://www.silestoneusa.com/colors/color/lyra/)
What do you think of this? I don't want anything too busy but want the room to look more up to date.
Any ideas on backsplashes?

A: And I also highly recommend painting the walls. Like Lori Dennis said, neutral colors or light greys. 8473 Apollodorus by Cloverdale is a beautiful color as well as its companion 8472 wild mushroom
