> In 2018 I moved into my newly built home by Stonewood Construction. Due to issues with finish work I was forced to bring in the CCB board and concluded that dispute by releasing stonewood of future responsibility. Fast forward to 2021 when mold appeared suddenly on my ceiling and drywall tape started separating. To my dismay, Stonewood Construction did not follow my city approved plans and the entire roof was not vented. Anyone familiar with a shed style roof knows that the venting is different then your traditional roof. The damage is extensive, estimated at $70,000 including removal of a large section of the roof.
> Stonewood Construction has chosen not to cover the damage, falling back on the unrelated CCB agreement. This is their right. However an ethical and responsible company would step up to pay for this code violation. Buyer beware.

> Great company to work with. Very flexible and always ready to help and work together on a project. Very prompt in communication. Will send out his crew to help, even if the scope of the job goes beyond their work. Thank you!!!

> We hired Stonewood in 2013 for a whole-house remodel upon the recommendation of several friends. We bought an older home that was structurally sound but needed lots of TLC. It was both exciting and rewarding to see our vision of a “ranch-turned-craftsman” house become a reality. Walls were removed, some rooms were expanded, and every surface was upgraded. Thanks to the efforts of everyone at Stonewood our newly remodeled home is just as we had imagined…..only better! Throughout the process we appreciated the Stonewood attention to detail, quality craftmanship, professionalism, "can-do" attitude and problem-solving skills. This large project was estimated to be completed in 12 weeks, and was done in 13 (largely due to delays by the city in issuing permits). As with any project, a few unanticipated issues emerged, but they were handled quickly and competently, with surprisingly pleasant results. Josh, Jake and Kat were all very responsive to our questions and maintained frequent communication with us about the status of the work. We cannot say enough about the quality work and the quality workers at Stonewood Construction. We highly recommend them for any remodel, large or small.

> We hired this company to remodel our bathroom. We got 3 bids for the job and selected them because they had lots of bathroom remodeling experience.
>
> They scheduled the job for a 2 to 3 week time frame, warning us that things can come up that could cause it to take longer. It took 6 weeks.
>
> They managed the entire job and provide some decorating input from a decorator that they have on staff. She came up with some great ideas.
>
> I checked the work that was done each day and found that some aspects of the job were not done to my satisfaction. I brought this to the attention of the project manager and all of it was addressed, but I had to have one task addressed more than once. Two years later there are two items that will have to be redone but they are small tasks and my husband and I will fix them.
>
> The main complaint that I have with them is that one of the things we had installed is an electric tankless water heater. These heaters have an expect life span of 9 to 13 years. The heater failed a little over a year after the job was done. This turned into a royal pain in the rear. After probably $600 dollars in services and parts, including 3 visits from a plumber, we never received some basic information from the contractor about where they procured the heater. The manufacturer still has parts sitting on his desk waiting for me to tell him where the heater was purchased. After probably 6 or more calls to the contractor I give up.
>
> I love my new bathroom, but I won't be recommending this contractor to anyone. This is a well respected local company, but I don't think that they bought this heater new for my job.

**Comment from Stonewood Construction:**

> Hi there,
> I'm sorry your experience with Stonewood was less than perfect, though I'm happy that you love your new bathroom. I'm clearly late to respond, but have just recently become aware of this review. I don't remember the specifics of your project, as we've completed many since 2010, with great success and many happy clients. If you're interested, please contact me by phone at (541) 485-6638 and I'll do my best to retrieve the documentation you need to have your water heater serviced.
> I'll look forward to hearing from you.
> Josh
