TK Building and Design was started in 2011 as TK Construction. As project demands increased, we added our first employee in 2012. Our company continued to grow, adding one more employee before changing our name in 2015. TK Building and Design now has 15 employees including a business manager and two interior designers. As our company grows, we see more and more demands to have project management included in the building and remodeling process.
We take care of hiring subcontractors to complete the project outside of the work that we complete ourselves. We also see that our customers want to share in the design process of the project, which we strive to accommodate. Whether you have an idea on paper, a picture on Pinterest or Houzz, or know every detail of a project that you want completed, we want to work with you to make your vision come true!
We continue to grow as our customer base expands. Our company employs individuals who are polite and keep their workspace clean throughout the entire project. Our attention to detail is unmatched! We will give you a timeline of what will be happening throughout your whole project and will do our best to complete the project as efficiently as possible.

**★★★★★ — Gerald Rothacker, June 2024**

> TK Building and Design were first recommended to us by a contractor who was retiring. They eveluated my home where I was having water underneath the stucco finish. They wisely advised an engineering assessment for the rest of the house and detemined that in fact there were many area where there could be damage.
> Initially I went ahead with a small project that was the most critical area. They did a very nice job in removing the stucco, repairing the underlying damage which was more extensive than I expected. Their recommendations for a finish with Hardy board turned out very nice and within budget. This project was done mainly with their crew.
> Once we saw the underlying damage, we scheduled a major renovation for the rest of the house. We used their designer for concepts and once started the project took four months. Much of it was done with subcontractors under their supervision. The subs were all excellent and when the project was done, it came within their estimate and the result exceeded our expectations.
> We have gotten many compliments on how our house turned out.

> TK Building designed and built a first floor addition with a bedroom, bathroom and laundry room, as well as converting a hallway into a butler’s pantry. They were meticulous in their attention to detail. We asked them to replicate the wood trim in the existing 100-year-old house which they did exactly. Everyone was easy to work with, our foreman in particular. I was dreading the process but ended up enjoying it from start to finish. We highly recommend them.

**★★★★★ — Debra Wier, June 2024**

> TK Building and Design did a bathroom renovation for us. They adhered to the start date and we were aware of who was going to be there on any given day and how long the work would take.
> They also made certain that any issues which were not anticipated were addressed and handled in stride.
> Everyone involved was considerate and friendly throughout the renovation.
> The completed bathroom is beautiful!

**★★★★★ — Primary Bathroom, May 2024**

> We had an excellent experience working with TK. They transformed a small bedroom into a primary bathroom. We were impressed by their work ethic and were helpful during the process. 5 stars.

**★★★★★ — Steve Nichols, May 2024**

> Their attention to detail, in-house designer, craftsmanship, responsiveness was superb! I would recommend them for any renovation project.

**★★★★★ — Ann Moore, Feb. 2023**

> TK Building and design did a very good job. The work was completed on time at the estimated cost. Jesse was on site every day and was a pleasure to work with. I would definitely use them again.

**★★★★★ — Lo, Sept. 2021**

> We used TK B&D to redo our outdated powder room, and to completely rebuild our outdated and poorly configured master bathroom. This required moving a wall and building a new hallway to lead into the bathroom. Covid-related supply chain issues and more than one snow storm introduced some hiccups along the way but they were all handled very professionally and the project proceeded extremely smoothly despite that - it's the largest project we've ever undertaken and was one of the best managed. We're very pleased with the quality of the work and feel the new bathrooms make a wonderful addition to our home.

**★★★★★ — HU-903465284, Aug. 2021**

> We did a first floor remodel of our colonial-style home. We came to TK with an overall vision of how we wanted our space to function. Tim, Adam, and Amy were all amazing to work with on our project. From start to finish, every detail was attended to with care and professionalism. They were flexible and creative as they moved through troubleshooting as the project unfolded. The entire team was conscientious, and the level of craftsmanship was outstanding! They made a typically stressful and busy remodel project, a positive experience for our family. We loved having Amy support us in the design and layout process, and she gave us confidence in decision-making. Adam was a terrific project coordinator, who was gracious, attentive, and always produced well-crafted work as he guided the team. Many thanks to Tim for the great work he does securing so many details, finding effective solutions, and using great discernment in selecting resources. Our family loves the beauty and functionality of our new space, and we greatly enjoy sharing our new space with friends and family. We highly recommend TK Building & Design to anyone looking at tackling their next building project!

**★★★★★ — Kevin Driscoll, Dec. 2020**

> The TK Building crew were outstanding to work with from initial estimate to the project completion. The quality of work, schedule timeliness, craftsmanship and communication was excellent. The crew cleaned up the job site at the end of each day and were very respectful of the work area and adjacent neighbors. Any delays in material or changes to the daily schedule were communicated prior.
> I would certainly be calling this company for any future indoor or outdoor renovations.

**★★★★★ — Robert and Elaine Kowalski, Dec. 2020**

> Our house is 47 years old and it was overdue for a makeover of our main bathroom. We decided to take it down to the studs and start from scratch. TK was expert at providing computerized design and scheduling as well as in-person assistance in vanity, fixtures, tile selection, and color coordination. We removed our old tub, vanity, and poorly utilized closet and replaced them with a larger two-sink vanity, corner whirlpool tub, and spacious glass-enclosed shower with heated floor throughout. The transformation was amazing! TK's attention to detail and communication throughout the process were second to none. The coordination of the TK team of designers, site foreman, and its subcontractors was spot-on. Changes during the project on our part? No problem. They just flowed with it. This was a 6-week project from the time they showed up on site to completion. The job finished one day early and within budget and no surprises. This project exceeded our expectations!

 - Description: This bedroom, bathroom, closet, and laundry room remodel is stunning. Previously the bathroom was laid out with a lot of unused space, and the usable space was a bit cramped. By laying out the bathroom more functionally, we gained added closet space and laundry room space. The bathroom features dark stained cabinetry with a Calacatta-look herringbone floor and shower. Gold accents throughout take this bathroom up a notch. The bedroom features a stacked stone corner fireplace, grass cloth wallpap…

 - Description: This first floor remodel is a show stopper! This kitchen and dining room remodel has so much style and dimension. The wood accents, waterfall edge, two tone cabinetry, and live edge seating area are just a few of our favorite details. The before pictures (at the bottom of the gallery) show the dark and dated kitchen. Removing posts and adding a LVL beam opened up the floor plan allowing for more usable storage and functional space throughout.

This bathroom was previously an unused spare bedroom with access to the master bedroom, so it was a perfect spot to create an attached bathroom for these clients!

Timber framed details, new stonework, additional roof lines, wooden accents, as well as new siding, windows, and doors complete this amazing exterior renovation.

 - Description: This couple was hoping to bring their house back up to date, brighten up the space, and give it a classic style to last a lifetime. They knew they wanted high end finishes and were okay with the cost that came with that. The kitchen was the center of the home, but was laid out oddly with a half wall and a load bearing post dictating layout. By removing the load bearing post and recessing a beam into the ceiling we were able to open up the layout of the kitchen. New white double stacked cabinetry…

 - Description: Mudrooms can have style, too! The mudroom may be one of the most used spaces in your home, but that doesn't mean it has to be boring. A stylish, practical mudroom can keep your house in order and still blend with the rest of your home. This homeowner's existing mudroom was not utilizing the area to its fullest. The open shelves and bench seat were constantly cluttered and unorganized. The garage had a large underutilized area, which allowed us to expand the mudroom and create a large walk in clo…

 - Description: The homeowners of the 1850’s Brownstone house planned to stay in this house forever when they purchased it 28 years ago, but with two stories, steep and narrow stairs, small dark rooms, and no attached garage space, they needed to do some major renovations to make it feasible to stay there in the future. The floors throughout the house were not level, and some areas in the house even had less than 7’ high ceilings, including the kitchen. This tall family had to duck going through every doorway i…

 - Description: This 1911 house had a very oddly arranged master bath and outdated powder room. The master bath was the entrance to the master bedroom, which seemed out of place. The bathroom included a large corner sauna unit, as well as a smaller "standard" bathroom within the larger room. By creating a small hallway, we were able to divide the bathroom from the bedroom and make a proper entrance. We added double vanities in different locations to create different spaces for the husband and wife. A large walk…

 - Description: This kitchen and laundry area weren't functioning well and wasn't utilizing the space the best it could. The existing cabinetry was peeling and falling apart, and with recently purchasing the GE Cafe White appliances, the cabinetry was looking really dingy. The laundry room area had no designated space for sorting laundry, and the closet was not functioning for food storage with old wire shelving. New bright white cabinetry from Wellborn and a larger island and coffee bar area makes the space br…

 - Description: While this kitchen footprint may have not changed, the end result is far from the same. This kitchen is now lighter, brighter, and has much more useable space. The kitchen is the heart of the home, and therefore it needs to function in a way that works for you. While custom cabinetry comes with flexibility and endless options, even a semi custom line, such as Wellborn Cabinet, Inc. has many options for different and clever storage options. ## Community Q&A

A: This white cabinet above is 36" wide by 54" high. The bottom portion is two 18" cabinets. Thank you!

**Q: vanity specs to allow trough sink to fit?** *(in Photo Questions)*

excellent retrofit! are there specific vanity types needed so a trough sink will fit? all boxes ive seen have cutouts for 2 sinks, so the middle section would interfere.
