> We contracted Kitchen Encounters to remodel our 7 year old kitchen in the spring of 2014. After researching many contractors and obtaining estimates we decided to choose Kitchen Encounters for our major renovation. Although they were not the least expensive, Kitchen Encounters had the most professional presentation and the materials and designs were top notch.
> What makes this company outstanding is their customer service and attention to detail. We have 4 and 6 year old children, a dog and a cat and it was important to keep the household running smoothly. By providing a detailed schedule of installation, and receiving frequent updates on the project we were able to work around the construction. If there was a schedule change or issue, we were notified immediately.
> We can't say enough about the Kitchen Encounters experience, our kitchen is beautiful and this company is A++!

> WOW! We are delighted with the transformation of our bathroom. Kitchen Encounters changed a small blue and peach tiled 1940's bathroom into a neat spa-like room that features a beautiful Cambria countertop, a walk-in tiled shower with rimless glass enclosure, and a sharp looking ceramic tile floor. The entire bathroom from the smallest feature and up looks terrific. It was exciting to see the old bathroom gutted down to the studs....you could even see the basement....then, keeping to the schedule, changing into a lovely modern bath.

> We recently had 3 floors replaced in our home by Kitchen Encounters and they did an awesome job. They were polite, professional and on time. They finished the project in the timeframe they had quoted and it looks great. I would recommend them to any of my friends for any home repair.

> Kitchen Encounters installed a new bath tub/shower enclosure for me as well as completely gutting my kitchen and installing a new kitchen with a new floor plan. From our first meeting at our home, through the design phase and then the actual work, Dave was friendly and professional. He listened to my concerns/needs and rearranged the design until we had a plan that was practical, beautiful and within our budget. They have many different styles/options to chose from no matter what your taste or budget, you will surely find what you are looking for. They gave me a schedule and a price and stuck to it. During construction, the daily phone calls from them let me know what was happening, as well as gave me a chance to voice any concerns I might have had. They addressed all my questions/concerns promptly. Overall I would recommend Kitchen Encounters. They gave me a kitchen I can be proud of at a price I could afford.

> My husband and I are pleased with David White and Kitchen Encounters. As this was our first bathroom remodeling experience, we relied upon David's importantant guidance and honest feedback. His subcontractors were excellent, particularly "Daniel, The Tile Master". The timetable was adhered to and Mrs. White called us daily to apprise of the work to be done that day. Our new bathroom surpasses our expectations.

> We recently had our kitchen totally remodeled from top to bottom! KITCHEN ENCOUNTERS was outstanding from start to finish! The showroom and patient, knowledgable staff made selections FUN, from cabinets to countertop to flooring to backsplash. Even details like paint colors and faucet styles were available right there! The craftsman who came to our house for every phase of the project were extremely professional, neat, personable and respectful of our routines. I received a phone call every morning to make sure we were kept "in the loop" and answer any questions we had. Even though several snowstorms hit the area during this timeframe, our schedule never wavered. The project was finished exactly on time!! A thorough cleaning of our whole first floor and celebratory follow-up visit concluded the work. I love my new kitchen and I give KITCHEN ENCOUNTERS the highest marks!!

> This is by far the worst experience I have had with a contractor. June 11, 2013 our long awaited and highly anticipated kitchen renovation started. The end of September it was finished. From the very beginning scheduling was a major problem. Three days were allowed for the subcontractor that took no more then 1 day each. I found it very frustrating to have 2 out of 3 days with no work being done. When I asked about this I received a not so nice e-mail back telling me I knew nothing about scheduling. I wish I could say that was the worst of our nightmare. I can't begin to list all the problems so I will just mention a few. Professionalism was very poor from the beginning. I loved it when I found hidden cigarette butts in our cabinets. Hated them taking 20 minute brakes in my bathroom. Our entire kitchen was demolished with only the wall oven, counter top, dishwasher and refrigerator saved for re-install. Apparently during the removal of the wall oven it was damaged. We were never told this. When they went to re-install they tried to "fix" it. The oven did not work. After a week of trying to get it to work we called an appliance store. They are the ones who told us someone had tried to fix it. Kitchen Encounters never disclosed this information to us. The design of two separate items were flawed. The apron above the sink was about 3" to short. When I asked about getting that fixed I was told that is the standard size. I have a custom kitchen! The second big flaw was the microwave/oven that Kitchen Encounters strongly recommended. Granted it was really nice but where it was placed in our kitchen was way to high making it dangerous and impossible to use without a step stool. Not user friendly. I would think an experienced designer would know about these things. When we went to pick out a new microwave we were told the type we originally had was made to be put in lower. One other thing I do want to mention is overcharge. We did change our sink style/color. The sink we picked out was much less then the sink Kitchen Encounters picked out. When we needed to adjust the cost they actually charged us $800.00 more! When asked about it they said it was an error. That was not the last time they tried to overcharge us. Beware! After all of the above they did fix everything but at times I felt like it was pulling teeth. The kitchen I should love, I hate.

> We have worked with Kitchen Encounters many times, and our dealings have always been very pleasant. Very professional staff that keeps you in the loop, and keeps the project moving along. Not to mention top-notch quality workmanship. Highly recommended!

> For years my husband and I wanted to expand our kitchen by knocking down the wall between our kitchen and dining room. We had no idea where to begin or how to design a functional kitchen.
> Then we found Kitchen Encounters. They were the perfect solution to our kitchen dilemma. David came up with the perfect plan. He put everything we wanted into our new kitchen including ideas we never would have thought of. He and his team were so wonderful to work with. We were very impressed with the organization of the project. They gave us a schedule and stuck to it!
> We highly recommend Kitchen Encounters and will certainly be using them for future projects.

> Great kitchen and addition. Work was done on time. My wife and I loved that they had a schedule and stuck to it. A joy to work with. Awesome job guys. We still get compliments on our kitchen 4 years later.

> Kitchen Encounters remodeled our kitchen. The company gutted the old kitchen and installed new cabinets, backsplash, counter tops, one window, and flooring. The flooring was installed throughout the kitchen and adjoining hallway, breakfast room, and family room. Some appliances were relocated, and a peninsula was moved. The relocation of appliances required design work by the company, and there was also repair work done to a laundry area and garage wall. Altogether the experience was remarkable in that the company did exactly what they promised and met each deadline. We were cautioned by many people in advance of our decision to remodel who claimed that no remodeler ever finishes on budget and/or on time. Imagine our pleasure when both things occurred. Additionally the minor touch ups that were necessary after completion of the project were done professionally and in a timely matter.

## Community Q&A

**Q: The bar** *(in Photo Questions)*

I love that bar! Where was it purchased

A: It's a mosaic stone tile.

**Q: What is the width of this kitchen from fridge wall to the sink wall?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Its approximately 14 feet.

**Q: People will buy...** *(in Photo Questions)*

My mother always said, if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. It's not often I see rude comments here, but there are those who think their taste should be everyone's taste. Personally I love the creativity go the room!!!

A: Thanks Patsy. I couldn't agree more. What some people don't realize is that this is a basement bar, not a primary kitchen. If you can't have a little fun with that space, where can you?

**Q: I love it!! I am not crazy about the stools but please help me find the base bar and the bubble effect on the** *(in Photo Questions)*

Can you tell me if this can be done in an economic way?

A: The "bubble" effect was done using a stainless steel sheet that I had laser cut with random sized circles that were laid out by hand. Behind it is a sheet of thin white plexiglass with lighting behind it.

**Q: I think this is a fantastic kitchen and room. Very unique.** *(in Photo Questions)*

I had two questions: First what is the red countertop and second who is the manufacturer of the red bar stools? Thanks so much.

A: The red countertop in this basement bar is Caesarstone quartz. I'm not sure about the manufacturer of the barstools. I beleive the homeowner purchased them online.
