I was born in the twin islands of Trinidad and Tobago where my love for Art and Decorating developed from a very young age. That love lead me to study Interior Design at the Miami International School of Art & Design. After my studies in the US, I moved back to the Caribbean where the inspiration began, to start my career. In 2008, I then moved back to the US with my daughter to further grow my business and career. My professional training includes an AA Degree in Interior Design and also a BBA In Marketing with over 25 years experience in decorating and design. Home Staging is a fairly new industry and I love the idea of merchandising the home through creative designs that appeal to the potential home buyer. The exterior of our house needs to be re-painted -- I am keeping the wood shingles white but can change out the other accent colors.... the 2 doors, 2 porthole windows and window boxes (hiding behind bushes in this pic) are red. And the shutters and some scalloped trim are gray. (the shed in back in more of a blue - looks same as grey in house but it's not). Not sure I love the red/ gray combo here... Any ideas ? Many thanks! A: Hi there. How about pulling the taupe/khaki color from that stone wall like Tyler Taupe for the doors & port holes and use this black for the shutters. the shed can also be the taupe. Also repaint the base of the house in a darker taupeOr If you want more color, use this warm gray for the doors & portholes & teal for shutters.Another look would be good old Navy for trim I would also change the white if its in your budget. something more off white. a warmer tone. Hope this helps **Q: Paint color help** *(in Design Dilemma)* Recently purchased a home in the Texas Hill Country. Beautiful home but I'd like to repaint outside and inside. Here's the dilemma. The stone is primarily yellow and the exterior is painted yellow with brown trim. The interior moldings, beams, doors and window casings are all dark wood. It's ok but I'd like it to look more updated and brighter. I am planning on updating the kitchen to a natural stone on the counters (possibly leathered granite or honed marble) and want to paint the cabinets (possibly redo the cabinetry) in a creamy white. Just moved into a 3200 sq ft home and am clueless. I know a rug is definitely needed for warmth. Ignore the white table (for entertaining.) There will be no tv. This room will be for reading or quiet entertainment. This is a saltbox style home. 2 equally sized front rooms and 2 equally sized back rooms.
