We were in need of some cosmetic updates as well as creating a bathroom with a roll in shower. We thought we'd have to use the existing hall bath but the day Paul came for a walk through his expert mind seen the opportunity to add an entire ensuite in the long master bedroom. He had very knowledgable crews who were experts in their trades and stayed on a very precise schedule which I had access to view online. His entire team was so great to deal with from the designer to the shop where I picked my tiles & countertops. Being empty nesters we were in a dilemma regarding getting renovations done to our 38 year old house or downsizing to a condo. We had no idea where to start looking for assistance regarding renovating or relocating. One day while at a local coffee shop we overheard Paul Klassen having a very professional phone conversation with one of his site managers. Realizing he was a contractor we introduced ourselves and explained our dilemma. Paul took the time to listen to us and then explained what Pinnacle Group is all about. In particular he mentioned his working relationship with a local realtor (Rob Vanovermeire of Coldwell Banker – Mountain Central) where they team up to work with people with our particular dilemma to try and come up with a solution which works for the customer. He offered to come to our house with Rob to discuss all the pros/cons of renovating or relocating from both a realtor’s and a renovator’s perspective. At our first meeting Rob arrived with a market evaluation of our house and Paul gave us a rough cost estimate on renovation ideas. That meeting gave us enough information to allow us to make an educated decision to relocate as opposed to renovate our existing home. The meeting also gave Rob enough insight into our needs to help us start our condo search. Paul offered his services to come and evaluate the structural components of any condo we were interested in as well as any costs associated with possible renovations. > > With Rob’s help we purchased a 17 year old condo and contracted Pinnacle Group to do some extensive renovations to update the condo to suite our envisioned retirement lifestyle. Throughout this whole process we had an incredible working relationship with Paul and his entire team. They went out of their way to keep us involved and up to date during the entire renovation. Any and all questions we had were answered almost immediately even on weekends and after hours. They were always open and up front and never held back any information. This really helped build and maintain trust. We feel this is a business approach which makes Pinnacle Group stand out above other renovators. Even with the typical challenges along the way Paul and company went above and beyond to ensure we got possession when promised as it was just before Christmas (Dec. 20). Pinnacle Group has cultivated an exceptional work relationship with all their subcontractors and this is evident in the coordination and quality of work done on the project. Therefore, we embarked upon the journey of replacing our existing house with a new rebuilt home. We are very particular people so we spent a lot of time reviewing different builder’s craftsmanship before deciding on the Pinnacle Group. One of the factors that led us to the Pinnacle Group was their “Pre Board” tours. This tour gives one the opportunity to review the quality of woodworking, electrical, plumbing and heating before the drywall goes up. Here one gets an inside view of how they are “doing things right”. > > After choosing Pinnacle, we sat down with Paul Klassen (the owner) and his team and completed the DNA (Design, Needs Alignment) form. This form is a detailed questionnaire that explores your likes/dislikes and needs/wants in a house. The completed form is passed to Paul’s architect who turned it into a plan. After a few iterations with the plan and setting a budget, we were ready to begin. As it turned out, the plan was the easy part. We now had to choose every item that would make up our custom home. Pinnacle’s team of design consultant, interior designer, cabinet maker and on site foreman were there to help. We were treated with professionalism, patience, kindness, integrity and a bit of fun. The path was not without bumps, twists and turns but in the end we got what we wanted. There were items that looked great on paper but did not fit in real life and the odd contractor/sub-contractor that did not have the same work ethics as the Pinnacle team. However, any bump or twist that was encountered was resolved or redone to our satisfaction. In addition to solving any building issues that arose, Paul and his team helped us pack up a U-Haul to get our daughter off to university which speaks to Pinnacle’s commitment to their clients. > > After some adjustments to the schedule due to Calgary’s worst winter in 112 years, the project was completed on time and on budget. Pinnacle does not just turn over the keys as they were back this year for the one year warranty service. Their warranty consultant found and corrected some deficiencies that we did not even know were there. Pinnacle will be back again next year for the two year warranty service which we think is unique in the industry. We would definitely recommend the Pinnacle Group to anyone looking for quality workmanship.
