> Working with these people has been one of the worst experiences of our life. I had to put in a completion date but we are still theoretically waiting on them to complete our house after two years. We finally just gave up and are completing the final aspects ourselves. I have heard stories about bad contractors but this was my first experience with one. Throughout the build process it became abundantly clear that Impel had no idea or care about what we were looking for - they simply wanted to take on another job despite being stretched too thin. They made a number of mistakes with our home and then refused to fix them. It has been two years of just constant attempts at communication from us, constant stress and constant emotion that has left us drained. We ultimately just wanted to end the nightmare of working with them which makes even the idea of suing them for their poor workmanship, lost rental income and stress caused unpalatable because it'd mean one more day of thinking about this miserable company. Shout out to Angela and her non existent husband Justin and their previous manager Kevin who literally quit their company, walked off our job and ghosted us - he was a real gem.

> We hired Impel to build our vacation home on the Methow River. The finish product was more than we had ever imagined, we came in on budget and Justin and his team provided great service and input on the design phase in working with our Architect. The quality of craftsmanship and attention to detail is unbelievable. Justin created small areas of "awesome" all over the project and interjected style and design into every aspect of the project. We could not be happier.

> Impel recently built a studio / apartment above our detached garage. They were timely and efficient. They kept us abundantly informed on the status. They worked well with their subs and they had some awesome subs.
>
> They worked well with our architect and with the local Planning Commission (zoning and permits).
>
> Justin, the principal and founder, has a lot of integrity and a lot of dedication to doing the job right. We also found him easy to work with and a solid communicator.
>
> Finally, their astute and out-of-the-box thinking saved us a bloody fortune on the project (when compared to other builders' estimates).

> Justin and his team went above and beyond to create a fantastic wheelchair accessible tree house for a Make-A-Wish child. His attention to detail to ensure the tree house encompassed all of the important elements the wish child was requesting was incredible. I would certainly recommend hiring Justin for any project.

> Impel does amazing work. There is builders that build and builders that design and build . The impel team always has ideas to add function and look and the means to implement them at a reasonable cost. They are there for us for every need and we find ourselves looking for ideas that they can make a reality!

**★★★★★ — mistypo, April 2013**

> Loved these guys and the work they did for us. High quality craftsmanship delivered as promised. Would definitely hire again.

**Comment from Impel Construction Co:**

> Thank You! It was a pleasure working with you as well.

> It is with great pleasure that we recommend Impel Construction Company of Stanwood to you. We recently had approximately a 1000 square foot addition put on our home and it turned out superbly. Justin and Eric were on the work site daily and accomplished the project on time and on budget. Their work ethic is unsurpassed by those in the industry. From ground breaking to move in was accomplished in 50 calendar days.
> We had several issues to address in this project and they were able to provide creative, cost effective methods to accomplish each one. To look at our home you would never know that it had an addition added to property.
> Impel Construction is easy to work with, and kept us informed at each step of the process. Never in the construction phase did we encounter a stranger working on our property. Impel was always on the premises supervising any sub-contractors they utilized, which were very few. Some of the reasons they are competitive in their bidding are that they are the consummate professionals and have the skills to accomplish the tasks in a very professional manner. Their work speaks for itself. We would be happy to address any issues, concerns or questions prospective customers may have—We’ll even give you a tour of our home!
> Our future projects will be done by Impel Construction.
> Make the right choice; choose Impel Construction for your project.

## Community Q&A

**Q: what is the manufacturer and method of attachment for the metal panels** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: The metal panel used was AEP Span Nu-wave corugated metal with a painted exposed screw. Thanks for asking

**Q: Like the siding** *(in Photo Questions)*

I've used galvanized corregated metal of several instances, but don't know how to add the "patina." Any techniques out there?

A: Hi John,

We used muratic acid applied with an acid sprayer (like an ordinary garden sprayer) to the panels laying flat on the ground prior to installation. You can also lightly spray with water before applying the acid to achieve a modeling effect. The amount of acid you apply will also create the modeling. After you spray the panels with acid and once you've achieved your desired etching spray the panels with baking soda and water. 1 box of baking soda per 5 gallons of water. And thoroughly rinse with water.

Thanks for asking!
