Matt’s father was also a custom home builder for much of his life. This means that Matt had grown up throughout his life around the art of home renovation. Being around the trade for so many years gave a motivated kick-start to Matt’s career in custom home renovation. It was determined very early in life that construction and renovation was in Matt’s blood. Part of what makes MLI unique is the fact that we fabricate all of our custom cabinets and bars in-house. Attitude is key and theirs was admirable. They remained on schedule and budget throughout our projects. Matt had great suggestions for some areas where we needed help. Each day when we arrived home they were almost as excited as us to see the days progress. While most of the work was done by themselves, the sub trades Matt uses are also excellent in their skills and professionalism. We had Matt do some custom cabinetry for storage of electronic components, electrical panel, fireplace hearth and the best of all was a gorgeous sliding barn door which he made from scratch using a stained Douglas Fir and working from our hand-drawn sketch! To tie this in to the rest of the basement, he wrapped our existing beams with a matching Douglas fir. The team were careful to each day tidy up their tools and any mess from construction before leaving. Matt would say "these folks have welcomed us into their home, so let's show our appreciation." We cannot say enough good things about Matt and his team. We would definitely welcome them back for any future projects.
