As you can imagine there were a number of challenges involved. James collaborated with my roofer and of course a structural engineer, and built a very impressive, unique, and beautiful deck for me. Everyone who sees it loves it! He was able to do the structural support with minimal impact on the inside of my garage. I was interested in deck squares for easier maintenance and James found the perfect durable, attractive material. > He is a conscientious, customer- focused builder, who does everything he can to make sure you are happy. He is also very creative in problem-solving things that inevitably come up. This project was started in December, so weather had a major impact on getting it completed. That said, James found inside space for staining and drying materials and worked many hours in bitter cold temps to keep the project moving. He went above and beyond to ensure that my family and I would be able to use the new hot tub over the holidays when everyone was home. He was able to install the railing and enough of the deck squares to reach the tub, and he put in a temporary door so that we could access the deck since there was a miscommunication on delivery time of the permanent door! I was provided a well-organized spreadsheet that showed all of the costs associated with my project. He installed floor tile, marble countertops and a gorgeous walk-in glass shower with rain shower. He had great ideas and was really good at problem- solving when issues arose. After removing our old stall shower, he added four more feet to our existing walk-in closet. All around a great experience. His craftsmanship is excellent. > His second project at our house was our deck. Again, he did an excellent job. He works harder than any contractor I have ever encountered. Our siding contractor said it was the most well constructed deck he had ever seen. He discovered that the joists had dry rot that previous installers had not found. He remedied the problem, installed new supports and installed new the sub floor. After spending a week making repairs he began the installation of the travertine tile. The day of installation he discovered that I hadn't received all of the tile that had been ordered to complete the job. Rather than wait for the tiles to be found, he used a larger tile and cut them down to the appropriate size in order to complete the job. He understands complex design ideas and is able to accommodate unconventional installations. I am thrilled with his work and found that his work space was spotless at the end of the day.
