Called company to see how to remove cover toget them out. Was told it was a closed system and bugs shouldn’t get in at all! They sent a tech out who told me the tunnel wasn’t properly installed in the first place and he could only patch the holes with duct tape! The company refused to compensate me with even a nominal gift card. The homeowner recently contacted us for directions on disassembling her interior trim ring for cleaning access. The only glitch that we had was that the original company rep forgot to note that the skylights were supposed to be wood stained not white. When they were installed, I brought it to their attention and they apologized and offered to order new ones (that rep was no longer with them)but it would be another 4-6 weeks. This solution was created with a skylight combination system, where we install several skylights together as one unit. The costs can vary a lot however, so for a more accurate quote, send us a direct message so we can gather some more information. Generally speaking however, a new skylight roughly costs $1800+/- per unit for a brand new installation. I had a typo and never received the notification. They can be damaged by hail, however due to their smaller designer and dome polycarbonate structure, they are rarely broken. If large hail is a concern for your location, a hail resistant dome can be purchased for added strength. It comes ready for most roof types as is, but additional flashing kits (weatherproofing) may be required on tile or flat roofs.
