> Julie and her team were fantastic. I really enjoyed working with her from start to finish. She always kept me in the loop as to what was going on with my project. She made the experience enjoyable, and she is extremely knowledgeable about the renovation processes. I highly recommend Lewis and Associates!

**Comment from Lewis & Associates Designs, llc:**

> I am so proud of your kitchen transformation because your creativity is like a fingerprint all over that space. And look at how much fun we had! Even when a few of the characters had us scratching our heads, we still laughed!

**★★★★★ — Lisa G, May 2019**

> Our master bathroom was our first renovation in our 25 year old house. Julie has a vision that complements the homeowner's requests combining a glamorous look but keeping with its functionality. The before and after pictures can only give you a glimpse of this artist. Trusting her insights have allowed us the peace and tranquility when it comes to remodeling. Thank you Julie for your amazing talent and giving us the bathroom of our dreams!

**Comment from Lewis & Associates Designs, llc:**

> Thank you for your kind and gracious words, Lisa. You two were so easy and fun to work with. Let’s not underestimate your accessory shopping (that you knocked out of the park!) and all the great baking with which you treated us. This was a fun project and I’m absolutely thrilled with the final results!

**★★★★★ — Judi Holler, Jan. 2019**

> My husband and I found Julie here on Houzz to remodel our kitchen / reimagine our first floor living space. We had never hired a designer nor taken on a project this big. We were excited and definitely a little anxious. Julie was the first to call us back and was 100% the best decision ever. Our kitchen is STUNNING! She was honest, fun, easy to work with and kept us on budget. Yay! She even gave me lots of bonus advice that helped me decorate other areas of my house that were outside her scope of services. We loved working with Julie and can't wait to bring her back for project \#2!!!!

**Comment from Lewis & Associates Designs, llc:**

> My dearest Judi, you two were a dream to work with. We just clicked from the get-go and the ideas started flowing. And boy, what a change! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a space change so much. Your home is absolutely stunning!

**★★★★★ — SE Brausch, Dec. 2018**

> Julie has been our trusted design professional for over 20 years. She transformed every room in our last home from stuck-in-the-60s to beautifully contemporary. Our dreary, unfinished basement became a functional living space that greatly increased our home's value when we sold. Our new home was just another fun challenge for Julie. She took it from stuck-in-the-80s to timeless elegance, gutting just about everything along the way. My husband never likes change, but after Julie worked her magic, his sanctuary in our walk-out basement is his pride and joy. Every single man that has entered it has raved that he wants a man-cave just like it. Julie is one of the most personable professionals that we have ever worked with. She really cares about her clients, is a great communicator, and just plain fun to work with. We will always trust her!!

**Comment from Lewis & Associates Designs, llc:**

> You are the best! We have worked together, laughing all the way, on some beautiful transformations in your homes! Honestly, some of my best work. And that is due in a large part to your impeccable good taste and a willingness to go the distance. But I must say, I think we’ve worked together for more like 25+ years. I think it’s because we started when we were twelve! Haha

**★★★★★ — Maria Laing, Dec. 2018**

> When my husband and I bought our home in the country it was outdated and had several rooms that we wanted to remodel. When we finally decided to tackle the kitchen and dining area we had no idea how to purchase and design the kitchen cabinets. We called Julie and she walked us through the whole process of type of cabinets, placement for function and flow of the kitchen and of course how to figure out a budget. We also wanted to open up the space to flow into the rest of the living space and she gave us many great tips on that also. The placement of the cooktop and options for our kitchen with cathedral ceiling with skylights was also very helpful!! She had a good knowledge of the Medallion line and how to order every piece we needed. She edited our design per our requests many times and was able to keep us on the timetable we needed for our contractor. Will post final pictures soon!

**Comment from Lewis & Associates Designs, llc:**

> Maria, you and Mark were fantastic to work with because you had such a clear vision and style yet, you listened to my suggestions and contributions. I think you really have something beautiful and I look forward to viewing your final vision realized!

**★★★★★ — Carolyn Van Bell, Oct. 2018**

> My husband and I hired Lewis & Associates Designs to remove a wall in our kitchen and add an island, but we received so much more than that! Julie increased the functionality of our kitchen space by making suggestions I never would of considered. Not only did Julie use her professional expertise to create the kitchen of our dreams, but she answered all of my design questions from paint color to furniture arrangement...and everything in between. We quickly realized that we were playing checkers while Julie was playing chess when it came to interior design. She helped us reconsider our furniture in our living room, and I couldn't be happier! I plan to call Lewis & Associates for all of my future home projects and think you should, too.

**Comment from Lewis & Associates Designs, llc:**

> Thank you for such a compliment! I am so glad your classic home is so lovingly cared for by you. You have quite a gem and it’s wonderful that you’re finding ways to make it relevant by today’s standards and lifestyle. You have a real asset in that house and I think that home has a real asset in the two of you! Please have us back any time. I enjoyed work with you both and can’t wait to see what else you cook up!

**★★★★★ — Kay Gualtier, Nov. 2017**

> Julie Lewis has been our designer for almost 15 years. She designed and decorated our condo. It not only went from plain and drab to an architecturally beautiful home, but we thoroughly enjoyed the process! Most recently she designed and is decorating a new home for us. Her ideas seem limitless and her ability to listen to our needs and paint this beautiful canvas of color, taste and style have even caught the attention of builders and homeowners alike. In summary without exaggeration I would more than likely deprive myself of a kitchen sink than build a home without Julie...but then, I am quite sure that she would find a way around this problem as well!

**Comment from Lewis & Associates Designs, llc:**

> Oh Kay, that made me really laugh out loud!!! I'm delighted I am worth a kitchen sink! But you're correct, I would come up with something before I would let that happen. What can I say, you are truly one of the best clients I could have ever asked for. You are by far the most appreciative, too! I'm sorry your project is nearing an end, as beautiful as your new home is turning out to be, I don't think you will need me again... that makes me sad.

**★★★★★ — Ellen L, Nov. 2017**

> I have known Julie for over 20 years. I first hired her as a designer and clicked with her from the start. Last year, I hired Julie to build and design an 1100 sqft mother-in-law suite and garage that attaches to my granddaughters house. There were many complications with zoning and the layout of the land, but Julie handled all obstacles with ease. I trusted Julie so much that I left for Florida and left all the building and interior design work to her. When I came back from Florida in the spring time, everything was done and move-in ready! I can’t say enough about her professionalism, her talents and skills. I love my new home! Thanks Julie!

**Comment from Lewis & Associates Designs, llc:**

> Thank you Ellen! The highest professional compliment I can receive is for a client to have total trust in me. You blew that out of the water when you left before we even broke ground! haha The evening you pulled up after months away and I got to walk you through your new home, all complete, was one of the highlights of my career. I'm glad it was for you!!!

**★★★★★ — Angela, Aug. 2017**

> Working with Julie has been an absolute pleasure! We just completed a bathroom remodel and Julie was amazing at helping and guiding us through the whole process. She was able to take into account our different style preferences and budget and work to transform our boring bathroom into an amazing oasis. She understands all aspects of the project, from design…all the way through construction. She also has this amazing knack of finding things that fit our style and completely removed the stress of being confronted with tons of decisions and choices! Julie is very quick to respond, decisive, has great ideas and will give you honest opinions. Her input has been invaluable throughout this process. I would recommend her ten times over again! Already thinking about what our next project is going to be! :-)

**Comment from Lewis & Associates Designs, llc:**

> You two were a blast to work with! You both made the process a pleasure. And I appreciate the trust and flexibility in making the whole project come together. I would recommend you ten times over as clients. If you should ever need anything again, please don't hesitate to contact me, no matter how small. You are the best!

**★★★★★ — Becky Summers, April 2017**

> Lewis & Associates designed transformed my hideous master bath to a luxury suite. I love all the details of the work she did for us! It is beautiful. She has also come out and given me design ideas and decorating tips. I truly love all the work she has done for us!

**Comment from Lewis & Associates Designs, llc:**

> I had so much fun creating the bathroom for you because you really trusted my vision. What a professional compliment!

**★★★★★ — John Ginther, April 2017**

> Julie was so easy for my wife and I to work with during our recent master bathroom remodel. She immediately sensed our design style and guided us to make the decisions that were right for us. Though she is an interior designer in heart and spirit, I could also tell she has a deep knowledge of all aspects of housing construction and framing. At one point, Julie saved us from ordering cabinet sections that would have been too close to a door frame to open the drawers completely (an important detail my contractor and I overlooked) and she helped with a quick reconfiguration.
>
> I highly recommend Julie. You won't be disappointed.

**Comment from Lewis & Associates Designs, llc:**

> John, I want to thank you for your kind and thoughtful words. You two made it easy and a pleasure and the results are beautiful. I highly recommend you as clients!

**★★★★★ — Linda Sherman, Jan. 2017**

> I engaged Julie to plan an overhaul of my kitchen. We sat together and reviewed my lists of wants/needs/budgets. Julie developed three renderings of potential designs in 3D colored imaging to illustrate exactly what each option would look like in the end. We then made final adjustments to the selected plan. Once our design was determined, Julie provided detailed, scaled drawings for my use in bidding and building. It was a wonderful, fluid delivery and Julie was immensely helpful and professional. I would highly recommend.

**Comment from Lewis & Associates Designs, llc:**

> Thanks for the great review Linda! It was fun to get your project to document stage; you have some really good ideas. Now let the sledgehammers start swinging!

  - Description: After raising four children and getting them launched, this single-mom homeowner decided to downsize and simplify so she purchased a 1970s condominium. The problem was, the new condo didn't reflect the her new hopes for the future. We came in, listened to how she wanted her new life and style to be, and created a look and layout that would reflect this new phase. We opened up the old space to create a giant-room feeling and suited it with an island to match the new look. One end of the island is…

  - Description: This kitchen is the original to a house that was built in the '90s. Admittedly, it wasn't the oldest or most dated of kitchens but for the homeowner it didn't strike the right tune. It was very dull, cramped, visually noisy, lacked any focal emphasis, and had no harmony. It was off key and out of tune! To bring this diddy around, we first opened up the window to fill the space with light!. Then we created the riff by trading in the disjointed small island and dinette table for a generous island.…

  - Description: We inherited this project at the foundation when the previous contractor seemed to be in over their head. We designed a new structure and created and mini version of the home owner's big house. Aside from having the foundation in, the previous group didn't seem to have accomplished much else so we were able to define how it looked, use of space, and turning it into a four-season structure. This project had it challenges but it came out beautifully and the homeowner's now have the space and lifes…

  - Description: I have never worked with a client who had such a clear vision and understanding of what the end results of a project were to be as I had with this homeowner. To say she had a passion and knowledge of how this two-story addition to her 1967 Georgian Colonial was going to go is an understatement! Adding on to a casual dining area and great room was all planned when I met her and I was impressed. She allowed me to continue the vision and delve deep into details with confidence and trust. She always…

  - Description: We took this lack luster master bath in a 1990's home and gave it some major WOW for a budget of $15,000!! The challenge was blending the older '90s biscuit-beige of the poured marble tub with a newer, crisper, cleaner palette. The solution was to work with a blue-grey that makes all white-type hues pop and create a spectrum in whites with the tile in the shower being a shade creamer than the bright-white sinks, but brighter than the tub. And then, just to round out the white spectrums, we accen…

  - Location: Hudson, OH
  - Photos: 13
  - Description: Admittedly, this kitchen wasn't horrendous before we got started and in fact, had been remodeled about ten years prior. But it was stuck in a little space and wasn't very user friendly for more than one person. Plus, it didn't make a very good use of space for the awkward little room right next to it. So instead of shoving a lot of need into a tiny space tucked away in the middle of the house, we blew out the walls and made that house all about the kitchen! Aside from moving the gas cooktop to t…

  - Description: As the summer was winding down, a homeowner told me of a plan to add an addition to her home. Her goals were to have addition space to her home that was based on universal design space that she could enjoy for years to come. The challenges didn’t end there! The existing home sit up on a hill and partially into a sandstone ledge. The solution had to be around 1,000 square feet, have a general sitting and casual dining area, small kitchen, general commode room, a second laundry area, two private r…

  - Description: In the late summer of 2016, we were given the task to add a little house for a woman who had given her big house to her granddaughter and now need a place of her own. The trick was to add it to a house that sat on a hill and integrate it to the property so that it was seperate but attached (township ordaniance required that it not be a seperate building). You can check out the design drawings and the a photo-story of the build on the project entry entitled Federal Addition. This is the story of…
- [Maid to Order](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/maid-to-order-pj-vj~1801350)
  - Location: Akron, OH
  - Photos: 12
  - Description: This bathroom is in a grand old Tudor house from 1929 and was originally the Maid's bath. 70 years later this old girl was given a much needed face lift! As much as I love a footed tub, it just isn't practical for the modern use of a shower so it had to go (don't worry I found it a good home!). We removed the old lathe and plaster walls and discovered space behind the eaves that allowed the space to open up, install new venting, much needed insulation, and center a generous vanity that provided…
- [Bigger and Better](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/bigger-and-better-pj-vj~2289369)
  - Location: Wooster, OH
  - Photos: 6
  - Description: This bathroom was part of an original addition in the 1950's. Strangely, it had two entrances, one from a main hall and one from the adjoining dressing room. Considering the homeowners habit, we closed off the door to the hall and swung the shower head to the wall the vanities were on. This allowed us to reduce the shower alcove a foot in width but extend it across the entire depth of the room. It also allowed us to add a second bowl vanity. The homeowner chose to go with a Ronbow ensemble that…

  - Description: Sometimes the true inspiration for a space come from who the client's really are at heart. The owners of this center-hall colonial just didn't seem to match their house. Oh sure the space was cut up and horrendously decorated, but the true inspiration was the client's love for the horse world and their down-to-earth lifestyle. Immediately, I blew out the walls of a space that was segregated into three little rooms; a dressing room, a vanity/tub room, and a shower/commode room. Using the supply a…

## Community Q&A

**Q: Where are these pendants over the Bar from.** *(in Photo Questions)*

Can you tell me where these pendants are from

A: This picture is six years old so exact duplication is not possible. If I were looking for these lights today, I would start looking in Ballard Designs. I know I’ve seen similar shades there. You may also try Serena and Lily.

**Q: Granite** *(in Photo Questions)*

Could you provide the color of granite? Thanks!

A: Hello, thank you for your interest but unfortunately this project is over five years old and the private labeled quartz product has been discontinued from my resource. I can tell you it was a predominately white with cream swirl with drops of caramel and charcoal.

**Q: Pendants** *(in Photo Questions)*

Love the pendants! What is the manufacturer, style? Where did you purchase?

A: Hello, I’m glad you like them. That project will s a few years old but at the time I purchased the shades separate from the pendant kits. I honestly do not remember the site I purchased them from. I think if you were to google ‘seagrass shade pendants’, you’ll find a decent selection to choose from.

**Q: What company manufactures the two chairs at left, please?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Looking for chairs of that shape and weight.

A: I'm sorry it has taken me so long to respond. I am relatively new to Houzz and didn't see the question! I'll be sure to check the whole page in the future!

But to answer your question I must admit this picture is over 10 years old so I am going from memory but I do believe they are from a company call Norwalk Furniture.
