It has now been 19 weeks since starting our master bath and guest bath remodel and yet neither remodel is finished. We were told that the project would take 3-6 weeks for both bathrooms to be completed. DecorReform’s planning and scheduling of work was unprofessional and ill prepared. We understand snow delays and occasional personal extenuating circumstances but there have been several perfectly good days without any work being done. > > The incompetence and lack of work ethic she has demonstrated disregards our time, our most valuable nonrenewable resource, our home, and us. We have had to cancel several pre-planned functions due to this project. We have had 10 different people in our home with no main contractor working on the project leading to inconsistent results. With the exception of one worker, her team or lack there of have demonstrated poor workmanship and a lack of attention to detail. > •Our furniture and personal items all over the house were covered in dust due to the workers cutting cement boards inside the master bath and not outdoors. > •Tools were often stored in our bathtubs without any protective cover resulting in scratches left on our bathtubs. > •Workers were sometimes no shows on days we were told to expect them. > •NO communication > We have not had anyone here to work on the house since May 3, 2019. Since this time we have been attempting to assess Donna’s integrity to our project. She told us we would receive an update on May 31, 2019 but haven’t heard from her since. She has not responded to our requests to obtain paid materials, get a refund, or fulfill her obligation. We have made numerous attempts to reach out to her but she still has not responded. > > In the beginning, she responded to our calls/texts/emails within a day. However, it became increasingly apparent that communication would be a problem and that our project was not important to her. The feelings of excitement and anticipation of something beautiful has turned into trauma, distrust, and disappointment. Our fear of hiring a bad contractor is now our reality. > > She DOES NOT HAVE A FAIL SAFE for supporting her customers when personal situations arise in her life. NO back up help, no back up contractors, no one else that can complete the project if she is unable to. Our compassion and understanding has been met with the silent treatment and our efforts to communicate with her are heavily ignored. I knew that I wanted everything to be modern but I also know what going into one of those builder type design centers can turn into. A budgeting nightmare to be exact! I was referred to DecorReform by a co-worker of mine so I figured I'd give them a shot. I was told that budgets are a specialty of theirs. Well they were right! Even though I had to start from scratch I had a set budget in mind. Donna literally helped me pick out everything from my flooring to appliances, countertops and everything else that goes into a new build all within my budget! I was impressed because I didn't know that there were 100's of different level carpet choices and such. It's insane. Had I been in that design center by myself my budget would've been blown on just my flooring and countertops! Donna helped me cut corners in areas of the home I can easily upgrade at a later time and used the excess amount towards a better grade cabinet color and granite. It was so much fun doing this project together and the best part is, we came in under budget so I was able to use the balance towards the decor side of things! Now I have to say, in my opinion, that's Donna shines from customer service to the budgeting factor, which is huge for me, but mainly her decor skill is amazing! I don't have state of the art budget so I didn't expect anything crazy because I didn't want to do customer furniture and such but I can only imagine what she can do when there aren't such limits! The compliments I get on my new home are out of this world. It's everyday living with style yet comfortable and homely feeling all wrapped up into one. If you're looking for someone to bring you comfort during the process, someone who stays in budget and creates a beautifully decorated home, please, please rest assured that DecorReform is hands down the place for you! At the time, I had so many other projects going on business wise, that I didn't have it in me to take on another project! That's when a friend of mine referred me to Donna, of DecorReform. Please help!** *(in Design Dilemma)* Hello everybody. These are the pictures of my small living room. I'm looking for ideas on how to make it look more cozy and alive. The walls are light blue and the coach is grey-blue. All ideas will be appreciated. Thanks! A: Hey there - I would start by adding in some textures. If your carpet is low pile, you can always add in a great area rug that you like. That will give you a chance to bring in some pops of color or simply keep it all neutral and use decor pieces to bring in some color such as vases or the alike. You can also do a different style end table. Remove the one by the window and do something different on the other side of the couch. Add in a side chair with an arched floor lamp and small side table next to it for some books. Adding in some throw pillows and a blanket will work well. Artwork on the main couch wall. An ottoman style coffee table will really soften up the space making it more cozy instead of matching tables. Just some thoughts. Hope this helps. Good luck **Q: Apartment with green carpeting and it's brand spanning new** *(in Design Dilemma)* My daughter's new apartment has brand new green carpeting like as just installed. Why oh why is it green! Anyways, she is buying all new furniture on a budget and we are stumped as to colors realizing that carpet must stay and just work with it. I think the walls are more beige. She has picked out several items that I think may work. Mid century modern design. Sofa with writing desk behind it and chair. Coffee table in same warm wood. Any more ideas? I am sure it will turn out beautiful **Q: Backsplash options** *(in Design Dilemma)* I've posted here before, and ultimately we decided to do a backsplash. Here are my options I am stuck on! A Turkish grey marble with a grey/white mosaic above the range. Or Ash grey herringbone marble. Thoughts? I've also included some photos of the whole kitchen for reference. The countertops are honed cararra marble and the walls are Sherman Williams pebble grey. A: Hi Jocelyn - your kitchen is coming along beautifully! What about going with the mosaic above the range as an accent piece with the dark ash grey herringbone around it and the other backsplash areas in the kitchen? Just my thoughts...good luck! You’re almost there **Q: Yet another backsplash question...** *(in Design Dilemma)* Hi All, I love how the cabinet and counters turned out, but what I had planned for the backsplash isn't coming together. I plan to use the star tiles on the range wall. I was going to use the marble tile in the first photo on the two sides of the kitchen, but it's just not doing it for me. The last photo confirmed that wrapping the stars around the whole kitchen is too much. There's a silver glass bevelled brick mosaic in that photo that would be perfect if it was not bevelled and twice the size. As it is - too busy. The grey brick in photo 2 would probably work, but with everything gray such a trend - and one that I'm not really in love with - I would like some other ideas. The floor is plain concrete - again more gray. (How did I unintentionally end up with so much gray?) The ceiling is a subtle blue green, but with all the gray in the room it's reading - you guessed it - gray. I'm thinking seriously of plain tin tiles, but I'm afraid it will look cheap. A: Since your countertops have a good mixture of color already, I would suggest going with something solid. Take a look at these photos for your reference. Going with a solid black would actually work really well....good luck. **Q: Solarius granite advice** *(in Design Dilemma)* Has anyone used solarius granite? Did you love it? Thanks for any advice. A: You made a great decision then. Don’t second guess it. Just go with it. It’s absolutely beautiful and paired with the cream cabinets will intensify the beauty. Yes, Solarius is known for the orange tones so that is not surprising that you’d find some that have more than others. When it’s completed I’d love to see some pictures. Good luck! I just know you’ll be in love **Q: Need help picking light and rug for dining room table** *(in Design Dilemma)* Please help - What light and what rug will work best for this dining room table that i got as a hand me down? (right now it's as my office in a conference room) but...taking it home and my walls are revere pewter not blue or beige. I cannot keep the rug because it pills up with fur balls when you walk on it alot. This is the room where the dining set will be going. The right side wall with the tv is no longer there as we joined 2 townhouses and opened the walls so that wall isn't there any longer. This tan colored couches will be sold and living room / tv room is really to the right and this will be the dining room. The blueish ceiling with wallpaper will be staying. A: Hey Jill - I think that if you and your husband like the table then you are right to stick with it. Use what you have and work with it, not against it. I, personally, love the table and actually think you can do a lot with it! With the right additions, as Jody White suggested beautifully, it will all come together! Another suggestion I have, just to emphasize the uniqueness of the table and also add some definition to it (as from far away it is hard to tell it’s even multi-level and such) is add some place settings and charger plates along with some decor pieces such as vases at the top level. I’ve attached some charger plate options that go with the fixture Jody White suggested and you seem to like along with some options for place settings.
