> CabAve did a great job in designing and constructing custom full wall cabinetry for our bedroom. My wife and I are thrilled with the beauty, craftmanship, and quality of their work. Additionally, the cost was extremely reasonable compared to other options and suppliers we had considered, primarily because they have their own millwork and manufacturing capabilities in nearby Clifton Springs. Allison Caves and her team do an excellent job in communicating throughout the design-build process and despite a heavy backlog, were able to deliver 10-days ahead of schedule to meet the needs of our installers. The cabinetry space is the end of the master bedroom opposite the bed and, rather than purchase dressers and mount a television, CabAve built us beautiful solid wood cabinets. The wall is almost 13' wide and 8' high. The cabinets consist of twenty-three 22" deep multi-width drawers on the bottom half, one 36" wide upper cabinet on each side, and a 6' open upper middle space for an oversized tv. All drawers are soft close and the larger ones have heavy duty 125 pound rated glides. The cabinetry and drawer boxes are all solid wood. The oak grain with the stain we selected shows beautifully. Our installers, Suburban Remodeling (who are also great), were delighted with how easy the CabAve designers and production people made the installation. The units were installed in less than a day, including relocating electrical and removing existing floor and ceiling molding.

> CabAve/Caves Kitchens did a wonderful job designing the remodel of our kitchen. Mary B and Allison provided lots of ideas and were very open and flexible incorporating our requirements and a lot of our current cabinets. We have a smallish size kitchen with lots of doorways. Mary B used all of our available wall space expertly. Before delivery, CabAve provided a thorough quality control in their shop of the new cabinets. We love the Cambria counter tops.Thank you to the CabAve team.

> The owners and employees of Cab Ave are outstanding. They really have a passion for kitchens and making sure their customers are happy. We chose Cab Ave because they spent a lot of time with us to make sure everything in our kitchen was just what we wanted and was in our budget. Remodeling a kitchen is expensive and we trusted them and knew we would love the outcome. Not to mention, if we need help in the future we know they will be here to assist us. Thank you Mary and Allison - we are enjoying our kitchen!!

## Community Q&A

**Q: Can you share the name of the Gray cabinet color?** *(in Photo Questions)*

thank you

A: Hi there,
Thank you for your interest in the project! The gray cabinet color is Shiloh Cabinetry's Silas. Hope this helps!

**Q: kitchen countertops- we love marble but not for the kitchen** *(in Remodeling)*

My husband and I are remodeling our kitchen/home. We are putting in marazzi American estates spice wood look floors( like a dark brown wood), and painting the walls gray. When we go looking for the kitchen countertops, we always love the marble slabs, but do not want marble in the kitchen. Is there an alternative that is maybe granite, but gives close to the same amount of white, while still giving a little bit of movement in the slab, or am I searching for the impossible? When I look online, I see kitchens I love but have no way to know what the countertops are made of.

A: Hi there,
Take a look at Cambria Quartz Marble Collection. I really love Britannica and Ella.

**Q: wood as kitchen backsplash?** *(in Woodworking)*

Any experience installing wood instead of tile as a backsplash? (No, I haven’t yet met a “wood” tile that meets the warmth test). Considering warming up our small kitchen with wood: a running single thick oiled wood shelf with matching wood paneling below, painted white wall above.
Any insights into what specific material selection (paneling, veneered wood, etc) you’d recommend? Or specific care or tips for this “sensitive” surface?
FYI in the adjoining rooms we have XL wide/long plank oiled oak flooring, and large format floor tiles in the kitchen. Please see first comment below for actual apartment pics. A few inspiration pics here:

A: Hi there,
Coming from a company that sells factory cabinets and also manufactures our own cabinetry, we know wood. Wood backsplash or counter top is not a very good idea. The moisture from the sink will be harsh on the material and cause it to fail over time. Backsplash is more safe than a countertop though considering water won't be on it as much. I would look into laminate. There are some wood grain colors. We have a laminated table in our conference room that has cherry wood grain on it. Water safe and looks just like the inspiration pictures you've posted above. Hope this helps! Good luck!!

**Q: what kind of countertop do I want??** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Yikes - my dark green wood edged laminate countertop is in great shape but looks dated (late 90's). My cabinets are honey oak. It seems like everyone is getting quartz or granite? Are those really my best options? If we are thinking of possible selling in 5 years or so, would one of those be the way to go?
Thanks for any help!!

A: Hi there,
Quartz has less maintenance than Granite (you have to seal yearly or more depending whereas with quartz you can just wipe it down with soap and water and call it good). As for price points, some quartz can be more expensive than granite. But I'd say if you find a color you like, go for it! Both are just fine for resale... but you should enjoy it while you still live there too! Make sure you go to the countertop fabricator and look at the large slabs before you pick your color. Bring a cabinet door with you to make sure the colors look good together! Hope this helps! Good luck!!

**Q: Love the cabinets! What kind of glass is in the cabinet?.** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Thank you for your interest in our project! The glass type in these cabinets is Cotswold.

**Q: Cambria Crowndale** *(in Home Decorating)*

Has anyone installed or have seen Cambria's new Crowndale color in person? I've seen a sample of it and it looks at lot like Berwyn. I am considering putting it in my new kitchen, but I am hesitant because it is such a new color and there aren't any pictures out there other than what is on Cambria's website. Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

A: Hi Karen, we always suggest to take a trip to the counter top fabricator to see the large slabs in person before it's installed. This way you can see the larger slab to see if you like it or you may even find something else you like better! Bring one of your cabinet doors with you to make sure the colors go well together. We love Cambria, and I'm sure it will look beautiful in your space! Good luck!!
