From the start, Andy was the consummate professional and was always very clear in his communication with me. I appreciated that he came out to my house for an in-person estimate (vs. others that might only do a video call). From that initial meeting, he was able to fully understand the scope of the project and also used his expertise and experience to provide valuable guidance. > > He provided an estimate within a few days of his first visit and it was transparent, fair, and reasonable. Once I hired him for the job, he was incredibly diligent and hard working on the project and he finished in what I think is record time. He always kept me appraised of his progress throughout the project and was very flexible in terms of working with me and my wife on the few changes we had in mind as the construction progressed. Andy did it all - framing, floor installation, painting, lighting/electrical. We've worked with a range of contractors in the past from the super high end here in SP/Westfield to do our bathroom as well as some of the no-name contractors to do things like our backyard pavers/planting and painting inside our house. ANDY IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST. He takes so much pride in his work, the final product and the customer's overall happiness. With all of the gear for the band/stage, we had MANY last minute changes to placement of outlets, wiring, mounting speakers, etc. He said "no problem" to everything. Andy wouldn't even let me hang my TVs by myself. After a couple of hours together of measuring, drilling, mounting etc, we had the 3 TVs up and connected (which was not in our contract). I really believe he didn't want them to be the thing that made the basement not ... perfect. If I had to give a critique compared to some of the super high-end places here locally, we had to pick out all of our materials separately. This at the beginning seemed like a drag, but in the end made us even happier in the end than we were with our previous experiences with other contractors. Andy is honest, a pleasure to work with, fun to communicate with and polite with the rest of the family. I cannot say enough about my experience with Andy Golec and only hesitate putting this online knowing that it will limit his availability for us in the future. He worked in our home for 5 months, during the Covid lockdown, with our 3 young children all home virtual schooling.
